- The AVMA wants to send out a big thank you to all service members - including all the veterinary professionals and AVMA members who care for our military animals. If you’d like to show your support for veterans, you can help in two different ways:

1️⃣ By supporting the AVMA/AVMF Scholarship for Veterans – which helps military veterans pursue an education in veterinary medicine.

Happy Howl-o-ween!! Make this day less scary for your pets by keeping them away from ringing doorbells and small costumed visitors that may cause fear and stress. Keep your black cats indoors and make sure pets cannot escape when doors are opened. Anti-anxiety medications/calming treats also may be helpful! And please, NO chocolate!! Keep that candy out of reach! Have a safe and fun day🧡

We were excited that Glen Sellers and Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine practice management rotation stopped by for a visit today! It is always great to meet these students but most especially since two children of my (Dr Vicky) Class of 1994 classmates, Cindy Wolfe and Sonny Mitchell were in this group!! Wow! Way to bring things full circle!!! Best of luck to these future vets!

We want to thank Melanie Scott Watts from Lifeskills for the informative presentation on Mental Health issues to our staff last week. Drawing on her years of experience in law enforcement and motherhood, we all learned about how important self care and our mental health is, especially in our high stress field.

We had a nice surprise from BGPD officers Phil Carpenter, John Deeb, and Jackson Price on Wednesday! It has been our privilege and honor to care for canine officers Axel, Bronzon, Chase and Mona! These dogs put their life on the line to help keep our community safe and keeping them healthy is important to us. Thank you Bowling Green Police Department for all you do for our community!
