Pearl with one of the twins. This little one is pretty bold! Her mom is the same way. Can't wait to see how she grows...

Surprise!!!! Well, Puck is definitely a girl. I was SO excited to find this little one this morning. I consider myself decent at sexing mature individuals, but Puck has always stumped me. I originally thought he was male ( to be fair he WAS only a little over a year old) and paired him up with a female. They got along great for several years- until suddenly they didn't. So maybe they were both female? After we moved and had the huge amazing new cages to move them into I decided it was the perfect time to try again. This time I paired HER up with a little guy I bred myself a few years earlier. I had been watching constantly for any signs of aggression OR mating, and I had noticed she was looking a little fat. But no way was I sure she was pregnant, definitely not this far along! So now we have four breeding groups going. Getting crowded!

Pearl had her babies last night! Last year she gave us one giant single. This year twins! I expect two more females to drop next month...

Last year I was SO excited to have three of my Prehensile Tailed Skink ladies give birth - two had twins! And I think the same three are "in the family way" again....
