We are a group of friends who rescue, foster, and TNR strays in Kuala Lumpur, MY. We are not a shelter.

We are NOT a shelter, just a group of like-minded friends who share a mission to help street cats that we come across in our daily lives. We juggle full-time jobs and family commitments together with our rescue work. As such, we are not at liberty to take on rescue requests from the public. What we CAN do is share information and guide you HOW to help a cat in need. It takes a village to help our

strays, not just a few individuals. YOU can do your part as well :) Imagine how many more stray cats we can help if everyone plays their part.

Button Sprout is trying something new today. He’s not usually one to put himself out there. He watches from the sidelines, follows his favourite people like a little shadow, and waits patiently to be noticed. But today, he gathered all his courage, picked out his best photos, and asked for help.

He’s just a small black kitten hoping that someone might truly see him. Not scroll past. Not overlook him just because he is black.

Button Sprout was one of three surprise kittens who showed up outside a team member’s house one day, as if they had followed a map and knew exactly where to go. No panic. No crying. Just three tiny boys who politely asked to come in.

Since that day, Button has blossomed. He’s still the soft-hearted one of the trio. He’s playful, cuddly, and absolutely full of love.

He has been deflead, dewormed, and vaccinated, and he is slowly learning that indoor life comes with many wonderful things: cozy naps, snack time, and people who care.

Some cats walk straight into your arms the moment you meet them. And some stay in the background a little longer, waiting quietly, gently, without ever asking too much. Derecho is one of those cats.

He was rescued as a tiny kitten from a school auditorium, and from the very beginning, he had this soft, thoughtful way of looking at the world. Never loud, never pushy. Just quietly present, always hoping someone might see him.

Back then, everyone thought he would be adopted quickly. He was sweet, social, affectionate. The kind of kitten you imagine being scooped up without hesitation. But somehow, it did not happen.

Other kittens came and went. Derecho stayed.
He watched them find homes. Watched people fall in love with the bold ones, the playful ones, the ones who ran straight to the door. And he waited. Not because he was not ready. Just because he was not the one people noticed first.

Now he is 9 months old. Still the same soft-hearted boy. Still the same quiet gentleness. But a little bigger. A little older. And maybe a little more hidden in the crowd.

He is neutered, vaccinated, deflead, dewormed, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV. He is one of the most cat-social boys we have met. He finds comfort in the company of other gentle cats and would truly thrive in a home with a feline friend.

Maybe you are not looking to adopt right now, and that is completely okay. But if you see him and feel something in your heart, maybe you could help him be seen by someone else. Share his story. Say his name. Because sometimes that is all it takes for a quiet boy like Derecho to finally be found.

Lissy’s foster mum is leaving Malaysia soon, and with that, our sweet girl is suddenly at risk of having nowhere to go. We never wanted her to feel this kind of uncertainty again, especially not now, after everything she has already survived.

Lissy is a gentle, mature, and very manja girl who thrives on soft routines and warm company. She adapts quickly to new places, she is easygoing, affectionate, and happiest when she can be close to her humans. If you have been hoping for a calm companion, Lissy is exactly that kind of kitty.

She does best as a solo cat or with younger cats or kittens. Her quiet motherly nature makes her incredibly nurturing. She has a soft spot for little ones and loves looking after them and offering comfort.

All medical costs will be fully covered. Lissy only needs simple medication dropped into her food, plus a few supplements. She eats everything without issue and may need occasionally vet follow-ups every few months or when needed. You will not be alone in this. A dedicated caseworker will support you closely, especially with anything medical.

What Lissy needs most right now is a temporary home where she can feel safe and loved while we work toward her long term plan. She deserves a warm place, gentle humans, and a Christmas where she does not have to worry about where she belongs.

Whether they come with or without a moustache, both are completely adorable. Meet Jack and Tommy, two boys with very different personalities but the same hope in their hearts…to find someone who will love them.

Jack is the younger one, around 5 months old, full of kitten energy and silly antics. He zooms, flops, plays acrobat with his toys – and yes, he’s very proud of his moustache. Under all that goofiness is a sweet, affectionate boy who just needs a bit of time to feel safe. He’s looking for a home with another friendly cat to be his buddy.

Tommy is about 3 years old and an absolute cuddle pro. The moment you sit down, he’s in your lap, melting into every head rub like it’s the best part of his day. He’s easygoing, loyal, and incredibly loving. He can live either with another friendly cat or as the only spoiled kitty of your home.

These are not just any cats. These are the ones who have been waiting. Some for months. Some for over a year. Some for so long that we’ve lost count. 🥺

They are gentle, funny, loyal, a little shy, a little silly. They are the kinds of cats who just need someone to see them. Really see them.

Maybe they were too quiet. Maybe they weren’t kittens anymore. Maybe they just never got lucky. But they are still here. Still hoping. Still believing that somewhere out there, someone will choose them.

About ARKL

Allergic Rescuers KL is a team of independent animal rescuers, which means we rely on our own time, energy, and financial resources to rescue, foster and re-home animals in need.

To date we have facilitated more than 220 successful adoptions.

What We Do

Rescue: We take in injured or healthy strays, often orphaned puppies or kittens who need our help the most. Please understand that we do NOT accept surrendered pets.

Vet Visit: We ensure that all strays we take in are vaccinated, de-wormed, de-fleaed, de-ticked and ear-mite free, in addition to any other medical attention they may need. If they are old enough, they will also be spayed/neutered.

Foster: We then foster strays in our own homes or through our network of volunteer fosters to socialize them with people and other animals. During this process, they are also house-trained or litterbox-trained.

Adopted Out: When they are ready, we adopt them out to loving homes following an application process. This includes a phone chat, meet-and-greet, and an adoption contract.

Trap Neuter Release Manage (TNRM): We also catch feral cats who are not suitable for adoption. These cats are street smart and much happier to be living in a colony outside! We use humane traps to capture them, spay/neuter them and give them additional medical attention if needed, ear-tip them, then release them back to the area where we found them to indicate to other feeders that they do not need to be caught again. We then continue to feed them in the area and keep an eye on them.
