Bruno desperately wants Whitney to play with him.

Whitney wants to chew on her favorite toy.

Bruno will play the “I’m not touching you game” until she snaps and plays with him.

Compton used to do that ALL THE TIME with Kylie & Sable, then run to me for protection when they snapped at him.

Random W Pack Update (in alphabetical order):

• Bruno is doing well. Can still see the cataracts but they appear to be getting smaller. I’ll call in in August for his 6-month recheck. He LOVES Whitney & they play constantly at home.

• Gigi Le Cat’s allergies have been flaring up, but she’s doing great after her dental back in February. Her eyes are open & she’s become the sweetest most loving kitty. She now spends most of her day watching all the birds & squirrels who frequent her bird feeders.

• Marty has been ultra needy since Rufus crossed the bridge. I was hoping he’d start going back to normal, but he seems to be getting more & more needy. So we love & cuddle & I carry him around like the baby he is. He also loves spending his days watching the bird feeders.

• Quinnie is enjoying her down time now that Bruno has another to play & wrestle with. She’s doing well, spends most of her time in her crate (she started doing this after Compton crossed the bridge) but is coming out more & more. She also has discovered the comfy dog bed in my bedroom & sneaks in there to nap throughout the day, which I love.

• Sriracha is perfect, need I say more? Seriously, she never changes, and is the constant in our home. Still cuddles with me in the morning, sleeps at me feet all night, and insists on being my body guard in the bathroom at ALL times (this includes a daily inspection of what’s in the cabinet under the sink, just in case).

• Whitney has been here a month & a week and has settled right in. She’s the sweetest girl who just wants love & affection. She loves playing with Bruno, tries her hardest to keep up with him & Quinnie at the dog park, but prefers the people. She was not housebroken when I got her, and it’s been a struggle with an older dog, but we are going longer and longer without accidents; and she also has learned to go on the potty pads if she can’t make it outside. We’ll keep working, but she’s fit right in.

I jokingly said that I’ve restarted with 3 dogs that are almost exactly like the original W Pack (Sable, Kylie & Compton). The thing is, it’s more true than not. These pups are almost exactly like their doppelgängers, and some days I just have to smile & thank my OG 3 for sending them to me.

The last 2 weeks have been long, exhausting, stressful & frustrating. I struggled hard, at times curled up on the floor hoping for something positive to happen.

I will be honest, about 364 days a year, my beloved pets keep me going, brighten my spirits, and remind me of all the good in the world.

It’s that 1-2 days that the struggle is beyond their help when I have to pull myself up & fight through the struggle.

In the midst of one of those days I ordered myself a couple silly gifts, and they arrived today. Absolutely love that I splurged for these; and now curled up with the cats, wearing the shirt, have the coffee mug waiting for me in the morning.

Urgent! Foster or Adopter needed

Zeus is a 10 year old Malamute in urgent need of a new home. He weighs in at 124 pounds and could stand to lose a bit of weight. He has always lived indoor/outdoor and has been around other dogs and exceptionally loves cats. Zeus is mild mannered and just wants to leisurely chew on bones and lounge the day away. His experience is with older children. Do you have room for an easy going senior to live out his golden years? He is currently tied out due to his living situation so we are considering him in need of urgent placement. Zeus has experienced some some recent significant deaths in the family and the caregiver is doing the best she can under the circumstances.

Other than moving a bit slower these days, Zeus has a clean bill of health. Zeus is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative. I received this message earlier, “We need to shower/change then can we come kidnap borrow Bruno ?”

Around 1pm, Bruno’s “other family” picked him up and took him on a wonderful adventure while I stayed home & worked. The girls & cats got special treats, but he clearly had a day.

We did make our usual trip to the dog park, but he was so tired he could barely keep his eyes open. The girls missed him, and made sure he knew it, but now we’re all curled up and ready for a quiet night.

Thank you, Robert & Brittany, and Emmett, for taking such great care of my puppy!

All joking aside, Bruno & Whitney have created an amazing bond in her 3 weeks with us. They love to play & cuddle, and I love that I see the Kylie/Compton bond be recreated.
