We didn’t know what to expect when we were contacted to use some of our animals for his upcoming book, but Mr. Ford and his team were amazing to work with. All were so knowledgeable and patient, working with animals is never easy and always unpredictable. The style of his art is both touching and intimate, every photo looks like an oil painting. We are so appreciative that we were chosen to help with this project and we are so excited to see the book and what Mr. Ford creates in the future. 🤍

Well, we are now at a head count lower than we have been in well over a decade for Zébu. The last group goes out to their new show programs this weekend at the Kaufman Klassic. To as far northeast as New York, southeast to Florida, west to Colorado and north to Ohio and many states in between we are thrilled to get some of these awesome Zébu out into others’ herds. Thank you to everyone for your interest in our program and cattle we offered. We are done till we finish sorting through a handful of last years heifer we are evaluating, and we finish calving out for spring.

We have a young bull to offer. I will start by saying he has some extremely interesting parts and pieces for the breed. He is old enough to breed but he has not met our standards to be a herd sire yet. We were watching his maturation and making decisions. With our reduction we will no longer keep him to evaluate whether he will develop further or plateau. We will be offering him as grade with no pedigree or herd name attached or as a steer.

Another female offered is BFRMS 20-15. She is a 2020 model and oozes exotic. She is a phenomenal cow for type and kind and really raises a heck of a calf. Like many she can get worked up in tight quarters but a perfect lady in the pasture.

A mature female we are offering is BFRMS 16-3 ET. This female is a 2016 model and her ear tips were frozen off as a calf. She has produced several very fine females for us and will continue to do so. She is already springing to Regal and we expect a calf any day.

Another Wastani offered is BFRMS 21-49. She is a 2022 calf and is shaping into a lady nicely.

A heifer offered is BFRMS 21-39. She is actually a 2022 calf and a big pet. She is very laid back and hard to picture because she won’t get away when there is food involved.

Our next offering is BFRMS 20-35. She is a 2020 model and calves late summer 2023.

Our first Wastani cow offered is BFRMS 17-1 AI. This cow is a 2017 model and is very easy going as well as easy looking. We have not preg tested but she appears heavy to Regal.

Most of our Wastani cows will be bred to our bull BFRMS Regal. He is a son of BFRMS Mataragio. We used him the year before that and his calves were phenomenal.

Tomorrow we will kick off Wastani offerings. Hold on tight because we have only offered a few of these thus far. Wastani cattle have been a decade long passion with some very close friends making a medium framed animal with beauty and vigor of their bigger and smaller cousins. Wastani could be the most versatile breed to exist in the US today.

Yet another female we are offering is Sit Still Look Pretty. This small cow is really exotic in her type and kind and a daughter of 2 AMZA master Champions. She is a Wallstreet x Gypsy Rose. She typically produces very refined calves. She is heavy bred to Gas Money.

Note- her horns are not attached and scurrs (loose at the base)

Updated - SOLD——Another female we have to offer is Ferrari. For someone who is wanting to raise something special don’t overlook this lady. She has a fresh heifer calf out of Gas Money by her side. Some notables on Ferrari——- she is the dam to Ol’ Son. ( I have also included a picture of him). Ferrari also has many Grand Champion Heifer, Grand Champion Cow and Best in Show Female awards under her belt. I don’t believe she is a MCH or PGCH on her permanent name record with either registry, but purely because of timing timing with registry changes. You know this female has the Cow power to improve.

From a breed character perspective this female is the complete package. You will be hard pressed to find a female more fancy fronted than Ferrari. This female demonstrates a very upstanding profile and correct angulation throughout. This female is truly a unique specimen to the breed.

Houston ‘24. The BF show team got it done. 1st place with every animal they took in, as well as Grand Champion Cow and Reserve Steer!

Something new and Interesting. We have 2 new litters of Mangalista x Herefords hitting the ground now. This is a phenomenal cross for fine pork. We will have some females available upon weaning.

In addition to this we will also have a select few pure Mangalista barrows from last year available, delivered to the processor in May 2024. These will be pasture raised and peanut finished. The meat of the Mangalista pig is reddish, marbled with creamy white fat, and is high in omega-3 fatty acids and natural antioxidants.
