Twas a hunt before Christmas, and all threw the barn….can someone help us on this, me not poet.
But i do have some photos from Sunday. We had two new young riders in the first field, both riding and jumping with confidence: Audrey Dennis (daughter of Whipper-In Theresa ) & Madeline (on Rosie, one of Kathleen’s very young horses)
Krissy’s talented “Tank” knows how to catch a thrown shoe as exhibited by his rider Fiona Daughtry.

During Michigan’s firearm deer hunting season, B*H takes a break. Which gives us an opportunity to visit neighbor state hunts. Today, Kathleen, Steve, Krissy & Tom (plus dogs), Andy and Dave hopped over to the other side of Lake Michigan and had a grand day with Mill Creek Hunt. Great views (coyote, fox, turkey, and of course way too many deer, ) and wonderful people and animals. Thank you to Master Keith, Huntsmen Brenda, and the entire MCH club for a great day!

A wonderful day at the Hunt!  the field was beautifully turned out, the animals received their annual blessing, and the donations for the homes were amazing from our naming auction. Then there’s the food! We wanted to think all the land owners and neighbors who visited – we really appreciate everyone’s support to keep this amazing club going.

This past Sunday was our first hunt of the season. What a beautiful day it was to be outside enjoying our hounds, horses and countryside! Then during breakfast we were all treated to a peek, from the window, of our adorable new hound litter! They are so cute and just 3 weeks old.

Members of the field giving an exemplary display of how to behave as hounds pass this morning.

Please do remember that if hounds need to pass you in a situation like this you should turn your horse to face them, this way your horse can see what's happening and won't be spooked by hounds moving behind them.
