Pru spoke about her liver shunt diagnosis, special daily care and CT scan and specialist surgery she needs to raise $8k+ for to live a long healthy life…
Mercay and Kevin spoke about how they are available for adoption and their adoption fees will go towards Pru’s care are they know their little sister is in strife…

It's the hard-knock life for Pru the pug, who was diagnosed with liver shunt at just six weeks old.
Pug Rescue and Adoption Victoria founder Joanna Herceg said donations and adoptions were needed to help keep the courageous canine alive.
"We need help to get Pru lifesaving surgery," she said.
"Pru's siblings Kevin and Mercay are available for adoption and their adoption fees will go towards her care.”
Ms Herceg said Pru kept a positive outlook on life despite her daily struggles. "She's a little pocket rocket." she said "Although she is on four medications and a vegan diet she remains happy, plays and runs around.
Surgery will hopefully guarantee her a long. happy and healthy life just like her siblings."

Herbie – Central Coast NSW
Beautiful Herbie (Age unknown) She deserves only the best in her life moving forward. Herbie has come in to rescue after living in terrible circumstances. Herbie has never known human interaction and is terrified and very fearful.

Since Herbie has been in rescue she has shown small improvements and willingness to engage in nosework and treat/retreat. Herbie has very little confidence around people but has food motivation. She is easily started by movement (especially hand movements).

We are looking for a home for Herbie where she will be able to continue her therapy of slowly learning to trust humans. Herbie needs to be rehomed to a mature, quiet and calm home with people who are prepared to give her all the time in the world with no pressure to adjust to her new surroundings. Herbie will need to be rehomed where there is already a friendly and established dachshund who can show her that there are kind people in the world.

Herbie is currently on medication and will need to continue to take it to help her with nervousness and anxiety.

In the right home we anticipate that Herbie will potentially adjust comfortably to her new surroundings over time.

Pease only apply to adopt Herbie if you are able to provide her what she needs. She will need to be in a stable home.
Garlic – Central Coast NSW
Garlic is a beatiful boy who has been let down. Garlic was rescued after living in terrible circumstances which has left him terrified of humans.

Garlic is not used to being touched or having any interaction with humans. He will need to continue to take his current medications to help him overcome his nervousness, anxiety and fears.

Garlic will need to go to an adult home where it’s calm and quiet. His new owners will be prepared to give him the time and space to allow him to become comfortable in his new home. Another friendly and established dachshund would make a great companion for Garlic and will hopefully help him to become more confident.

Garlic has made slow progress since he has come in to rescue but needs slow, gradual exposure to human interaction with lots of choice. Garlic engages in his lickimat, treat/retreat games with his handler sitting nearby.

Please only apply to adopt Garlic if you are able to provide his needs as he needs a stable, adult only home with people who will understand his needs.

Adele's unwavering dedication and meticulous planning turned the impossible into a reality. She fearlessly embraced the challenge, overcoming every hurdle set by Guinness World Records. Her commitment to our beloved breed and recognition of D2DR's work in rehoming dachshunds, including those with health and behavioral issues, is truly commendable.

We're also thrilled to announce that the event generated approximately $5,500 in funds for our organization, thanks to Adele's efforts. These funds will greatly support our mission of rescuing and caring for dachshunds in need.
