I want to get back to posting the new additions to our sanctuary. It has been a tough time with Julian and his hip operation and life in general but we keep fighting for our residents. All of our residents are thriving and doing well. Juliet, on of the first cows that we rescued turns 19 in April. Edgar is around 12. Living the life! Many others too! This is our latest rescue, Grandad. He was put over our fence on the coldest night. We are so thankful that they did. I always have 2 of my girls with me Nonna and Princess, and when i came back from getting feed they jumped out of the truck and started barking to let me know a poor guy was there. I am so glad they did, he never would have survived the night. It’s going to be a long road to recovery but we are with him every step of the way. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. We are still here and still going. I won’t let it be so long to update our friends. Speak soon.

We are still here! I know it’s been a while since I posted so I thought I need to change that. I am not very good at social media, I need to change that, I want everyone to know what has been happening at the sanctuary and will little by little introduce you to our new residents. It has really been a struggle but we will survive. We are limiting our intakes to real hardships and believe me there are plenty of them. The baby pictured is our latest resident. He is the tiniest baby I think I have ever seen! He stood no chance of survival but now he will be given every chance to have a great life! We will keep you posted on his progress. So many of our supporters have kept us in their thoughts throughout this his quiet time. Thank you so very much for helping us keep going. We will update you all as we go along. Speak soon. Carol

HELP - SAVE THE SANCTUARY

This little goat is developing a cleft palate, and this poor little guy was to be sent to a butcher. Many goats born with defects like a cleft palate are immediately sent to a packing facility because nobody wants to breed them or use them for milk (females).

We found this little guy on Facebook when we were looking up fence supplies we saw an ad for baby goat kids. They said if this goat wasn't picked up within a day or two, we would 'send him to our guy who processes goat meat'....

Morally we had to rescue this little goat, but financially we can't do it. Seriously you guys, things have been bad here.

We couldnt ignore his plea for help. We had to bring him home.

If we close our doors due to lack of physical help here at the Sanctuary and financial help baby goats like this won’t ever live to see the light of day.

We are sorry for the lack of updates recently, but things aren't the greatest here at the Sanctuary.

A lot of our part-time employees are hit or miss and sometimes don't show up. The unfortunate side effect of farm work is that it truly is hard work, and finding compassionate people to help with animal care is almost impossible.

The reason we have been absent for the past almost 2 months is that I have just been working morning to night taking care of everything around here.

Back a few years ago when our Patreon was much higher, and our recurring donations were more consistent it was much easier to hire part-time help and almost had full time help.

As our donations took a sharp decrease after 2020, I have been more hands on lately and then the updates have slowed down. And as Julian's health took a decline I have been taking care of him much more.

We have really had to think about the reality of closing our doors, for good.

Anything and everything helps. Our best donation days are when each and every follower we have contributes just $5. If just 1$ of our followers help with a small donation, that number goes a very long way.

If you can sacrifice a cup of coffee today for the Sanctuary we would be so grateful! If you can help please send a few dollars to Venmo: or paypal.me/sanctuaryatsoledad

We were hacked.

After receiving many violent threats through our Facebook platform, and several messages notifying us of password changes, we were hacked.

We don't know exactly how it happened, but one day we received some very nasty messages from a profile that was telling us she 'hoped we would die'.

We didn't think anything of these and just ignored them, until we were locked out of our account.

Which is why we moved out to Florida in the first place, to avoid conflicts like that. So now that they are here in Florida it gives us a very unsettling feeling.

Dealing with all the drama of potentially losing our Facebook was very hard on us.

We really did not want to create a new profile from scratch as we would have lost all of our followers on Facebook. By pure luck we were able to recover our Facebook account and our page because it was locked out of 2fa, which we never created, and we were able to secure it ourselves.

We are finally pack and we can give you some updates on what's been going on.

- Julian isn't doing well at all, which has me by his side almost all day.
- We have been using our final savings to pay our workers to take care of our animals, and make necessary repairs.
- Our donations have hit the lowest they've been in almost the past 7 years.

We don't want to quit our dream of running our Sanctuary, but we are almost out of options. Seriously, we've said it in the past, but we never really had to touch our safety net money. I think if Julian was doing better things would be much easier, but with his declining health over the past 3 years it's been really rough.

Anyways we got our account back it is secured. But like I said we are very very low on emergency funds. If you want to see more rescues, more animals saved, more updates from us, we need help. A simple $5 donation from you today would help.

Please help in anyway you can, if you are financially able ro.

Hey everyone. This week we are asking for some help. It has gotten cold here which has increased our hay consumption. It costs 1800.00 for a truckload which we use every 10 days. We understand money is tight but every little bit helps. We so appreciate everything you do for us, our residents count on it. Thank you. We have decided with the name Pan for our little crippled baby goat. He is doing great. He has a long way to go but he is so willing to try. We will keep everyone updated. Thank you in advance. Speak soon.

Hey everyone. We wanted to share a picture of our latest resident. This beautiful little guy is paralyzed in his hind legs. It has been very difficult financially lately, we feed a semi load of hay every 10 days, but we have to help this little guy. If you have been following us for several years you will remember Kaboom. He had the same problem and with love and attention he overcame his paralysis and even became the subject of a children’s book. We will not give up hope for this baby. He also needs a great name, so help us out. Thank you so much for the support you have always shown us. We will keep you updated on this little guys progress. Speak soon. Carol
