Update on Jane Doe, now named Lexie! 🐈

Lexie has found a fur-ever home with one of our clients! ⭐️ We held a meet and greet where Lexie made herself right at home, and enamored our client with her cuteness! 🥹 We are so thrilled that we found the pur-fect home for this girl, and are incredibly thankful for the opportunity to watch her grow through grooming and pet sitting bookings! 🐾🩷

🚨FOUND CAT- URGENT FOSTER NEEDED🚨

This kitty who we are calling Jane Doe was found yesterday morning in Country Club Hills near Flossmoor and Cicero.
No chip.
She was taken to the vet today and was diagnosed with feline herpes, making her incompatible to stay in a home with other cats. The virus is not contagious to dogs. She has received her first dose of the FVRCP, has been dewormed, and was tested negative for FIV, FELV, and heartworm.

If you know someone who is missing a kitten, please send them our way. We are in desperate need of a foster in the meantime, as she cannot stay in our home. Please message us on Facebook or at 847-409-1851 to inquire about fostering.

Happy Monday, friends. I was incredibly lucky to be able to step away for the weekend and clear my mind, so thank you so much to Molly and Emily for being here to run the show while I took a much needed break. Now that I've sorted some stuff for me, it's time to be honest. This is getting harder every day. People aren't out shopping the way they were, we've taken some hard hits, and costs keep rising. We still haven't bounced back from our hit from the block party. Every hit we take puts us further and further behind. I don't know how much more we can keep digging ourselves back from. I think this is our last leg.

I love my place in this community. The relationships I've built, the partnerships I've formed, the friend I've made. I hold the charities, rescues, and organizations we've donated to our helped support in one way or another so close to my heart. The Barketplace has been my dream for as long as I can remember. I'm fighting tooth and nail to hold on, I just want to be honest, my grip is slipping.

We need support. We know our shelves aren't full the way we would like. We're frustrated too. We're doing our best. If you help us catch up we'll get them full again. We hope to remain your dogs favorite store.

Did you know the 4th of July is the day that the highest number of pets go missing?⚠️It's important to make an effort to take dogs out to go potty prior to the evening, and keep all dogs and other pets locked inside. 🔒

As well, ensure that all of your pets are microchipped- including indoor cats.🐈According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, "...approximately 52% of lost dogs and 38% of lost cats with microchips were reunited with their owners, compared to only 22% of dogs and 2% of cats without microchips". 🏠
