The Pibble Diaries of Blue has been created to highlight the extraordinary life of one amazingly resilient and loving 9 year old Pitbull boy, as well as to bring awareness to the terrible injustices of Breed Specific Legislation. This is Blue's story...
Blue was first discovered by Alice Hunter-Vernazza in South Central Los Angeles, bound to a post in an auto shop by a thick heavy chain. His enti
re life was restricted to a 5 ft radius in the shop that rang loudly with sounds of pounding hammers and screeches of metal. His body covered with scars and infection, left behind from what is believed to be years of abuse. It's possible that he was even used in dog fights. Alice called every rescue she could think of, trying to find Blue a way out, but no one would take him. Nana the Earless Pibble and the Stand Up For Pits Foundation were alerted of Blue's circumstance and so graciously shared his story, pleading with followers to help rescue Blue. That's when my dear friend Lauren saw the post and knew in her heart that she had to do something. Within 48 hours, Blue was released from the chain! He was taken to a veterinarian and treated for his medical needs which were all funded by Stand Up for Pits Foundation with the help of many beautiful donors. After a couple of weeks we knew that Blue was one of a kind and we weren't going to let him go! After all of the trauma, abuse, and abandonment, one might think Blue would have lost trust in humans, that he might be dangerous or irritable or threatening. Yet on the contrary, Blue is consistently endearing and eager to please his humans. He's beat all of the odds and is now celebrating life in full force as the newest addition to our family. Blue's one of many Pit Bulls that deserves saving. Follow Blue to participate in a celebration of a once abused and neglected spirit, whose life is now filled with love.
