You wonder why your dog isn't tired after a 2 mile run? The problem is you've been running 2 miles every day. Your dog is conditioned and that 2 mile run becomes nothing. Add some mental workouts and you'll be surprised how tired your dog becomes. It's a balancing act - physical vs mental exercise.

Pumpkin & Blueberry Muffins

Ingredients
1 c pumpkin puree
1/2 c blueberries
1-1/2 c oat flour
1 egg
1 T coconut oil melted

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350°. Line Muffins tin with paper liners or lightly grease.
2. In a mixing bowl add the pumpkin puree, coconut oil and egg. Mix well until smooth.
3. Fold in the blueberries.
4. Gradually add the oat flour, mixing until a thick batter forms. If the batter seems too dry, add a tablespoon of water at a time until it reaches a scoopable consistency.
5. Spoon the mixture evenly into the Mmuffin tin compartments, filling each about 3/4 full.
6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the muffin comes out clean.
7. Allow to cool completely before serving to your dog.

Storage
Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 1 week. Freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw before serving to your dog.

Beet & Peanut Butter Biscuits
Ingredients:
- 1/2 c beet puree, cooked, no added salt.
- 1/2 c natural peanut butter. Unsalted and no added sugar.
- 2 c oat flour
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350° F and line baking tray with parchment paper.
2. In a large mixing bowl combine beet puree, peanut butter and egg. Stir until well mixed.
3. Gradually add oat flour, mixing until a thick dough forms. If the dough feels too sticky, added more flour as needed.
4. Roll out dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness. Use a cookie cutter to cut into shapes. Place on baking tray.
5. Bake 20-25 minutes or until the biscuits are lightly golden.
6. Allow to cool completely before feeding.
Storage
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week or refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.

Reno made the Front & Finish 2023 Paragons of Rally. To earn recognition teams must have participated in AKC Rally competition during the 2023 competition year and earned 3 or more perfect scores within one of the following classes or divisions.

Reno was #15 in Master and #18 in Excellent and Advanced.

Bindi working on directed retrieve today. She couldn't contain the anticipation yesterday but today she kept it in check until sent.

Go Out

The boys worked on maintaining the "look" on Utility obedience go outs. Go outs done at approximately 100 feet. This is Jagger in the video.

Front & Finish's Foremost Rating System ranks dogs and handlers competing in AKC all breed obedience competition. Teams that earned a qualifying score of 170 or more points in Open and Utility classes during a given year are included in the tabulation. Points are awarded based on the dog's score according to a point schedule. The top ten ranking dogs by breed are published. Bo (Helfinstine's Alabama Bleu Bojangles) and Jagger (Whispering's N Dreamweaver's Tru Bleu Jagger) were tied for the #7 Weimaraner 2023.

Working on Jagger's directed retrieve. He likes to pounce and slide. Today was a good day - he did neither.

I have two 10 week old boys looking for homes. They're playful and bold. This was their first time outside and they met a new dog that they thought was pretty fun to chase.

7 weeks old. Breakfast after spa day.

They're more awake and playful tonight. Getting pictures is like trying to get a picture of a particular bee in a swarm.
