Whitehorse Woofers Dog obedience, rally, agility and nosework in the Yukon

The Whitehorse Woofers Dog Club is a registered non-profit organization that has been in existence since 1996. The Club's purpose is to:

-Promote and encourage dog sport training and increase its popularity in a responsible manner.

-Promote good sportsmanship in the training and exhibition of dogs.

-Listen to our dogs until we discover what is needed instead of imposing ourselves in the name of

training.

-Not use force or confrontation so that we are able to develop a trusting relationship with our dog.

Some photos, credit to Christina Sobol, of the September 2025 UKC nosework trial, with judge Lori Rogers from Calgary. Over 25 dog/handler teams not only braved the less-than-perfect weather on Saturday, but came back on Sunday to sniff out the hidden scents.
So many great searches, and thanks to Quantum Machine Works for allowing us to use their facility for this event. Keep on making memories with your pups!!

Nosework seminar on April 25, just before 2 days of nosework trialing with seminar presenter and judge Kelly Ladouceur from Calgary.

Kelly is passionate about nosework and loves to share her knowledge, tips and tricks! She also set up some new exercises, which were really helpful. Everyone learned so much, thank you Kelly!!

Just talked to a friend about the Yukon Kennel Club show which will be held in June 2025 in Whitehorse. They are contemplating adding either one or two more Rally class types. These are Unofficial classes of teams of either 2 or 4 dog/handler teams. Check out the rules in the CKC Rally Obedience rulebook for more deets, page 121, 122. Let me know if you might be interested in doing this, and I will pass the info along. Sounds like fun!!
