PLEASE DO NOT take your horse to auction thinking that since we are about to enter riding weather your horse will get a home!!!
Killbuyers are buying them by the semi load now!!
The demand is so high in Mexico the plants there are paying for partially filled semis at full semi price.

Public service announcement. A horse blanket company I met doing my Standardbred volunteering says they give good discounts to rescue orgs and is closing out their stock of Draft horse size blankets. Please PM me for their info.

As your horses age or because of stiffness, they may be unwilling to pick up their hind hooves to be cleaned. One “command” all my horses know and respond to is “leave it low.”

They know this means all they have to do is turn their hind hoof up while keeping it on the ground so I can pick it out. No hiking up their hind leg or cranking it to the side which puts pressure on their hip. I usually have to remind them but then they go right to leaving it low.
