2024 ACDCA National Specialty Recap
2 years ago my 1st litter of Australian Cattle Dogs debuted at our local show in Knoxville in the 4 to 6 mo BPUP classes. Never in my wildest dreams did I think when entering the ACDCA National Specialty would I have all 5 babies have titles on all their names. Nor did I think I would ever have them all in the same state again let alone dog show. But the stars aligned and shined down on us making this Specialty something fairytale are made of.
Each or the babies (not so baby anymore at 2 yrs) placed at one event or another (Scent Work, Rally, Properties, Breed, Brace and Herding) I'm just in awe of them all. Giggs went Best of Opposite S*x in a very steep class of Girls as well as qualifying in 3 of 4 elements in scent work and titling in 2 of those elements. She also made the cut in the properties classes she was entered in. Dozer and Flirt took 2nd in Brace (which was amazing since they had only been on a lead together 3 times) Unfortunately Dozer cameninto heat and we had to pull from her Rally Debute but she made the cut in all her properties classes. Flirt made the cut in the Breed ring and also did well in properties. Stag man showed so well for me even though he had not been in the ring in a while he remembered the game, he also did well in properties snagging a 2nd place. Not to be left out Miss V***n earned top spot Rally Novice with a score of 96 nabbing a 1st place. She also earned her HT title and competed in Conformation. I am gobsmacked at what these Babies and their owners have accomplished in such a short time.
A big congratulations to all the owners and thank you for all you do with these Hooligans Sharon and David Parker, Paige Ayers, Amy Peters and Brian and Christina Parker. Thank you to Amy Peters for allowing Jewels my dynamic little firecracker of a sports dog to be my ride or die and the foundation to my program. Pam Gipson for allowing me to use Brit to sire this litter of amazing dogs. And of course my mom who introduced me to the world of dog sports mentoring me guiding me and keeping my feet firmly planted in the here and now.

CH Shada's Special Ops SEN SIN (Giggs) is living her best life after her BOS win at the 2024 National. Her new family adores her. She has won the doggie lottery. You may see her occasionally in the conformation ring or maybe at a scent work trial. But mostly she will be loving life being spoiled rotten with her new family.

Giggs CH Shada's Special Ops SIN SEN started the National Specialty week with a Bang by gaining 2 of her scent work element titles. Giggs ended our week with a Big Bang by going Best of Opposite s*x over some incredibly beautiful girls. I'm still in shock. I am so proud of this girl and her siblings all who competed this week. I will recap all the babies accomplishments once I can wrap my brain around what an incredible week we had. Thank you to all my friends and family that cheered us on.

Wow CH Shada's Playing with the Boys aka Flirt, had another fabulous day at the UKC show. She took the ring by storm with 2 Best of Breed wins, a Group 2 and a Group 1 and her 2nd BIS for the weekend. So beyond proud of this young girl. She has her AKC championship and 2 majors and 2 champion defeats towards her Grand Championship. And this weekend she picked up all her competition defets and 70 points towards her UKC Championship. Go Flirty go.

So this is a little late (apparently I forgot to hit post the last time I tried to share) but here is the haul from Miss Giggs adventure into scent work. Little miss managed to be in the ribbons securing a 2nd place a 3rd place and 2 4th place awards. So proud of what this team accomplished on their first trial.

This past weekend Atlas Hemi and Dozer went to the BlueGrass Classic show in Lexington KY. Atlas had a clean sweep the days he was entered winning Best of Breed and Best of Breed Owner Handler for 5 point majors towards both his Bronze Grand Championship. Hemi got to play in Vetrans sweeps after the show winning the Best 10 + veteran. Old man has so much fun playing in the ring. Dozer had her work cut out for her as the entries for cattle dogs was insanely high. (60+ entered on Saturday 50+ on Sunday and 30+ on Monday) Sunday she made the cut in a very steep and lovely group of dogs. Monday she went Best of Opposite S*x and Best of Breed Owner Handler for a 5 point Major towards her Grand. So proud of my Merry band of heathens.

Dogs' lives are too short. Their only fault, really. Agnes Sligh Turnbull.
Today, we bid farewell to our beloved Silver, a treasured companion and family member who joined us through rescue. Silver touched all of our lives and was a special boy. Gentle and loving with his boys Jordan and Caleb, he watched over his family as their guardian, making sure no harm came their way. He enjoyed running the fence line, playing chase with the donkeys, the occasional game of fetch and hated getting his nails done, making sure to express his displeasure at that task but if you had a cookie he would do just about anything you asked. As he aged he became a very opinionated old man some migh even say a grumpy old man. We loved him regardless of the smack talk that would come from him. Silver boy you are loved and missed dearly. Rest easy, good boy you did good.
