Let's talk the reality of hospice...bodily functions. Our motto is "at least they aren't Irish wolfhounds"...isn't she the cutest little pigtailed camper you ever did see? The one that just randomly p**ped while I was carrying her. I stepped in the p**p. I was so very optimistic that it was not p**p...we also have an active bleeder under the chin. That's between my toes and oh look! On the floor. I should buy stock in Viva paper towels and Clorox wipes (lavender only).
I've got some weird things in my house. Baby plates, bowls, spoons, porta- bassinets, boppy pillows, baby blankets, crib mattress protectors (lots of those!). Am I one of those crazy people who think dogs are babies? No. I'm cheap and resourceful. Little dogs stuff is $$$. Highway robbery people! I get lots of stuff on Amazon and always on sale at target. Pink, blue, purple. No one cares. Is it on clearance? I'll take 3. That $75 totally awesome furry bed from the fancy shop is unwashable. Washablity is key because a well balanced washer is the difference between 2 cycles or 1. Hospital bath blankets work for everything! Including when my bath towels were used for a little accident at 0300. Mama doesn't have to drip dry! Everybody wins! We have gone through 2 full sets of dog beds in the bedroom and the 3rd time is down to the couch and xpen for the rest of the night.
What is the point? Be prepared. Use what works. Think ahead. Be resourceful. If you run out of everything else the dirty clothes basket is perfect. Things that are safe for them and won't get commingled with people stuff.
