Today was a GIANT vet day for MPR!

Chloe: 2yo white female pittie, spayed, 51.5lbs. Scheduled for surgery 12/31 for a vulvaplasty (she needs less skin around her ladyparts or she will struggle with irritation and infections for the rest of her life.

Chloe LIVES for toys and loves everyone. Dog friendly. Pulled from Pound Buddies. Once we get rid of this one physical issue, she's going to feel so much better and be such a happy doggie! Total bill today $207.70.

Tw***ie: 1yo Female Black/White Chihuahua scheduled for spay 12/31. 7.5lbs. SO SWEET when you hold her she lays her head down on your chest... Tw***ie was being kept outside chained to a tree in Ionia. Once she's spayed and ready she needs to go to the best home - no more tree life for this girl....

She's a talker and can get some volume out of that little body so we're looking for a house for her vs. an apartment (or someone with nice neighbors. Bill today was $338.43.

Finn: Brown Poodle 2yo 11.8lbs. Being treated for an ear infection and vaccines today. Shy, timid. Walks in a circle a lot so our guess is he spent most of his life thusfar stuck in a cage - so he learned to walk around a small space. Neuter set for 12/31.

Finn needs a home with some dog experience, or someone that can be patient with him as he warms up and adjusts. He's so sweet. His bill today was $499.37.

Digger: White Bichon Mix 2yo 10.7lbs. Also being treated for an ear infection. His bill today was also $499.37. Neuter set for 12/31.

Both Digger and Finn will need regular grooming.

Whew......... What a DAY.

We are waiting for the final bill on Diesel and will post that tomorrow. He is recovering well given he had 7 teeth removed, was neutered, and had the bum leg removed today. Big day for our little man. He has youth on his side and apparently is already up and getting around.

He wasn’t using the back leg anyway so he won’t have to relearn to walk without it.

Diesel's back leg is super wonky - it's an old healed fracture that can't be repaired. Removing the leg is his chance at a pain free life. He'll get neutered when he's there as well. That's priority 1. From there we can rebuild our emergency fund (we happily blew it on Maggie) and take care of vetting Chloe who we will introduce soon (white pittie pulled from Pound Buddies) who is super adoptable. We also need to vet Tw***ie who came to us the day before the Thanksgiving holiday so he didn't have to spend the holiday scared in the shelter... He used to live tied to a tree. He's safe now...

Can donations can be dropped off at 1731 Woodworth and will be returned Wednesday so we can get a total. We also have drop offs in Wayland, Comstock Park and Ada (PM the rescue for addresses).

When a dog like Diesel comes into the shelter, a 5,000 surgery is a barrier to adopt to most adopters. Together we can can shred that bill and remove that barrier. He's the kind of dog we love to help.

Diesel does have a home visit pending and we hope to be able to send him home after he recovers from surgery!!

Tw***ie and Chloe will be listed once vetted.

The countdown to Giving Tuesday has already begun here at Mosh Pit Rescue. Hold on to your dog bed, buckle up, because here we gooooooo.

We're excited to announce we have been offered a $10,000 MATCH on all donations received now through December 2.

It's ok, take a minute, we needed one too, $10,000!!!!!!!!!!!

Priority one will be Diesel's surgery December 3. He needs that wonky busted back leg removed.

We have already secured $2,206.36 in donations toward that match. 22% there, 78% to go!!!

Maggie update!!!!

Adoptable Maggie Mae is doing SO MUCH BETTER!!!!

She came to us with fleas, skin was a wreck and needing a massive dental. Now that that’s all cleaned up, her hair is growing back in and she’s just the sweetest happiest little grandma lap dog.

She rarely barks. Is good on leash. Loves being held. I didn’t want to let her go once I had her up in my arms tonight.

She’s adoptable - needs a groomer asap now that she has hair again. 😄😄. She’s a quieter older dog who probably would like a quieter calmer home with a lot of human cuddling.

It’s not every dog where you literally save their life. Where the circumstances that led her to us - we literally took her out of a vet office where she was brought for euth but they called us instead. She’s special to us here. She needs the best home. Apps on the website.
