Dog with exposed bones on her foot
Visited little miss no name at the vet today. The doctors said they will have to amputate her leg. Itās too damaged to repair and just dangling. It happened more than a few days ago. They want her to gain some weight and then she will have her surgery on Tuesday. She will be on antibiotics and pain meds until then. She is comfortable, has a nice bed that was donated to us and is lucky to be in the ac without fleas and ticks anymore. Sheās a sweet girl and will do just fine with three legs. Sheās going to be spayed at the same time, vets recommendation. She is also heartworm negative which is great news! She is still available for a foster home to take her in. We are going to work on a good name for her. Let us know if you want to foster, donate supplies for her or donate to her surgery. Her vetting is going to be about $1500. We have Venmo listed on our pages and a donate button on our website.

We are looking for fosters for the dachshund puppies! They are now 8 weeks old and have had 2 rounds of dhpp shots. We have six left and would like them to go in pairs. Please let us know if you can foster.
Fancyās surgery went well! There were no complications and sheās already acting like a happy little puppy! Sheāll have to stay on her watered down wet food slurry for a few weeks while everything heals, then weāll slowly start giving her dry food. Weāll give her a few months of recovery before she gets spayed. š©· Weāre on our way to the airport to fly Miss Fancy back home from Colorado!
Thank you so much to the team at Colorado state University @csuvethospital for taking such good care of Fancy, she was already so comfortable with them and having a good time, she wasnāt being shy at all. Weāre so proud of her. Weāve met so many wonderful people who have traveled from other states to have their dogs treated here, we canāt say enough good things about them! Thank you, thank you, thank you! We are so fortunate they have this program for rescue dogs. š©·
We took in 4 new little puppies that were at risk of being euthanized tomorrow at the Hondo shelter. There were 9 of them and another rescue took 5. They are so little! There are 3 boys and 1 girl. We are working on names for them and doing basic intake vaccines and deworming. They look like little Merle cattle dog/catahoula/husky mixes. They will all be fixed and microchipped later this month. Complete an application to adopt or foster. Www.luckyspotrescue.com
Thank you so much to @wrrtx Wild Life Rescue for taking in this injured duck I rescued from the highway!!! He was walking around on 35 south right after the 281 entrance. He clearly couldnāt fly and I had to stop the car so I didnāt hit him. Thank you to the other cars who helped hold traffic from running us over and the two men that got out of the car to help catch him! He kept trying to run into the other lanes of traffic! He was injured and bleeding from the mouth so we had to drive him to Kendalia location to get him immediate help. We are so grateful for the Wild Life Rescue that they are able take in these injured animals. ā¤ļø Please consider donating to them! They take in injured and sick wildlife all day every day.
