Blade City LLC is the knife sharpener who put an edge on my shovel and gave me hope against the invasives. and have garden starting plants, and HaaShrooms has mushroom logs. Drop off your knives, clippers, shears, etc for sharpening and go shopping till they're ready. Ready-to-grab brunch can be found at Mayor Meats, My Empanada, Noosh, RVA Bakehouse, Cakes by Jen, Souper ChefG, Happy Hand Pies, and Agriberry.

Good morning, but more sad news about canine flu in RVA:
Dear Everyone —we have more positive Flu cases at RACC. 😷 As the only open admission shelter in RVA, we can’t stop impounding sick and injured dogs in need. Our building is old, isolation space is limited and we are playing tetris with space daily! Here’s what you can do to help! 1. STOP calling in your owned healthy dog as a contained stray (we know you are fibbing; chatting with your neighbors, a quick microchip scan or social media search proves the truth). We can help you with re-homing resources but your dog does NOT need to be at RACC right now. 2. If you find a healthy stray dog, please try to find the owner. We need to be the ABSOLUTE LAST resort for healthy dogs right now. 3. Think FOSTER and ADOPTION for all of our recovered and perfectly lovely dogs that need a home so we can maintain isolation space! We are vaccinating ALL impounded dogs with flu to help boost their immunity, but we will likely remain on limited healthily stray dog intake for another 2/3 weeks. Please help us. 🙏 We’ve been crushed by people giving up their dogs faster than we can make space for them and it’s heartbreaking. 💔 From your exhausted Flu friends at RACC-thank you!
