Each class group takes on a personality unique to each group. For this last session before we take a summer break, we celebrate this stellar class. (We had 6 graduates but only have 4 pics at this time.)

Last night we were missing some friends and “graduated” others from puppy class. Congrats to these cuties and their families.
Today rather than a we’re going to pay homage to all the feelings.
Tonight was a graduation celebration for these sweet pups and their people. Cappy and Sully graduated from advanced class and earned their puppy S.T.A.R.S. ribbons while Stevie accomplished some strong life skills. All did really well and were a joy to work with.
I may have posted this one already, but it always makes me smile and in honor of our cat, Chuck, who has only been with us for 3 months but is celebrating his 10th birthday today- here’s the

Last night was graduation for our Sunday class. Let’s give a big shout out to all the teams. (Not pictured- good boy George.
Shout out to all the amazing veterinarians and staff.
If only we all saw ourselves the way our dogs do.
This actually made me chortle.
Now that it’s Facebook official, please join me in congratulating our own Christina Ognenoff on obtaining her Certified Professional Dog Trainer CPDT-KA status. To achieve this takes a minimum of 300 training hours in a 3 year period plus passing a 200 question mind bending exam. She has been a great help in our classes and is so much fun to work with. Her love of dogs and training certainly shines through and we are lucky to have her.
Pattern games for the win! Watch how Nelson stayed focused on his mom by playing the Up Down game while Hank Von Voight worked on the 1-2-3 game. I’m so very proud of them both and of their moms.

Here at Peaceabull Paws you probably won’t see a lot of graduation photos with stiff poses but you will see a lot of dogs and their people who have clearly strengthened their bond thus creating a relationship in which all parties want to do things to make the other happy. +
In our house we usually either say we’re going to perambulate, or we say we’re taking a tour of the neighborhood, however we just started experimenting with another method (check the comments.)
What code words do you use? Do you spell out words in front of your dog?

Getting set up for Puppy class. We use pods with enrichment to give our students more agency to explore and use their senses while learning. The pods allow for more engagement and less stress.
Notice the difference in her body language with each of the three passes at the cardboard form in the foreground and how her confidence emerges.
We had to skip our evening walk due to the weather, so I set up dinner in the round with various enrichment activities. Julius is a dainty eater so the video is a bit lengthy.

“Who wants a box?” Julius knows that good things come to him when he’s on his mat.
If you’re out of boxes try an old blanket! I hid tiny bits of duck jerky in this for Julius to snuffle around on.
