I'm still a Kirby lover even though I have a central vac.

I've been on conversations with people in apartments with dog's and all these new plastic vacuums not lasting. A Kirby is suited for an apartment because it does everything with it's multiple detachable parts. Even the rotary brush easily comes off for easy cleaning especially when you have Afghan Hounds. This is the biggest problem with Afghans and vacuums.

The motor is a casted metal with chrome finish and you would expect your Kirby to last at least 30 years before it's in need of repair.

Yes it's expensive yes it's heavy but it lasts. This is why I recommend Kirby vacuum for one floor apartments. It tucks away neatly in the closet even it's accessory caddy with all its extra parts ready to work hard for another day.
