Sorry to pull on the heartstrings tonight but I can see the hundreds of comments on my previous post (and thank you for your kind words and condolences, you have no idea how much I appreciate them all) asking about Lucy.

Lucy came and sat next to me and just looked at himā€¦ My heart was already broken and that just added to it. I think sheā€™s definitely aware that something isnā€™t right. Sheā€™s licked my face repeatedly as well (I guess trying to comfort me). Rest assured, Iā€™m giving Lucy lots of love too - sheā€™ll also be grieving!

Hold your fur/feathered babies extra tight for me and give them all the love they deserve!

The cheekiest, chattiest, most entertaining little bird of mine passed away today, just a month shy of his 12th birthday/gotcha day.

We noticed he had slowed down in the last few days. He was very sleepy, very cuddly, less chatty and overall, just ā€œdifferentā€. I hoped this wouldnā€™t be the outcome but it is šŸ’”

I just wanted to share this with you all and thank you for loving him as much as me. I am absolutely heartbroken. Lucy has been sat by his side so I have no doubt that she knows whatā€™s happened.

11 years of memories that I will treasure forever. Rest in Peace, my sweet sweet Charlie.

I can only imagine what these two would be whispering aboutā€¦ if they could talk!

Hi all! Iā€™m sorry for the lack of posts - life just gets so busy. I figured itā€™s been a while since youā€™ve seen Charlie but heā€™s still here, still cute as ever and being the best little sidekick. Heā€™s turning 12 this year so heā€™s quite the old man these days. He canā€™t fly for long without getting tired and he doesnā€™t talk as much as he used to. Every so often, he shares a few of his favourite sounds like in this video but thatā€™s all I get!

So we have spent the last few days bracing for Cyclone Alfred and last night was quite scary. The wind was so loud and was banging against the windows for hours. I could feel parts of the house actually shaking which is not something I want to experience againā€¦ and while the cyclone has moved on, itā€™s now a tropical low causing more wind (itā€™s still howling outside) and rain. Weā€™ve come out of it unscathed so far but are devastated for those who have damage or are experiencing flooding.

Lucy had a trip to the Vet today as sheā€™s constantly getting ear infections or having other ear problems despite the use of maintenance drops and ear flush/washesā€¦ argh! I mean the fluffy ears are cute and all but itā€™s so hard to keep them happy in this tropical and humid climate šŸŒ“

However, if thatā€™s her biggest issue at 10 years old, I count myself very lucky!
