We had such an amazing week last week at the National Specialty at Montgomery (and Hatboro!) Our puppy, Luckenbooth's Peerless ("Char") did very well, being awarded Best BBE Bitch on Sunday by Ms. Peggy Beisel-McIlwaine, as well as nice placements earlier in the week. She was handled by Chelsay Paul-Grubb and Heather Hunter the first two days (thank you!) and by me for the sweepstakes and on Sunday.

Char is out of GCH Luckenbooth's Heavens to Betsy by GCHG Dufdon's Top Gear. She has a lot of maturing to do, and I am excited for her future!

Thanks to everyone involved for making it a wonderful event and especially my dear friend Priscilla and her Evelyn for being great roomies! I really enjoyed getting to put faces to names and have extended talks with those that I admire. Bill Shelton's seminar was definitely a highlight. I'm already looking forward to next year!

Thinking fondly of my wonderful friend and mentor, Elizabeth D. Walker. As I look at this picture of Stanley in her arms as a pup, I can’t help but think of the joy that she has brought to so many through her breeding program, and we are no exception. I am forever in her debt for giving us our start in Cairns with Stanley and Alice and am honored to have had the privilege of starting my line of Cairns with hers. As I told my precious friend Sas, all of the wonderful people and things in my life that surround my Cairns (and there are many!) I owe to Betty. She taught me so much about the breed and was always there to offer guidance and encouragement. Rest in peace, dear lady. I hope to see you again and make you proud until then!

We have a new Grand Champion! Betsy was in the ribbons all weekend in Missouri. All wins were majors. She was BOS Thursday at Gateway Terrier Association under judge Mrs. Nancy Smith Hafner, BOB on Friday (Missouri Rhineland KC) with Mr. Jay Richardson judging, Select on Saturday under Mr. Joe Vernuccio, and Select on Sunday (Mississippi Valley KC) with Ms. Julie Felten judging.

Huge thanks to Nick, Chelsay, and the whole of Team Grubb for their incredible handling, fantastic grooming, extraordinary care of Betsy and just being wonderful all-around teammates on this journey. 💜

Betsy has been out and about with Chelsay and Nick the last few weeks, getting ready for the Potomac specialty!

In Dayton, she was BOB both days for 2 GC points under judges Julie Fenten and John Ramirez. In Harrisburg this past weekend, she was Select Wednesday and Sunday for 1 GC point each (judges Dennis McCoy and Del Richards) and BOB Friday and Saturday for two 5 GC point majors under judges Dr. Gerard Penta and Terry Berrios!

We can't wait to see all of the wonderful dogs and great friends in Timonium!

Betsy had a great first weekend out as an official champion in Tallmadge, OH. BOB Friday and today for a couple GCH points, awarded by judges Mrs. Donna Ernst and Mr. James E. Frederiksen. The icing on the cake was a Group 4 today under Mr. Robert Hutton! Thanks to Nick and Chelsay Paul-Grubb for your expertise as always. We're really happy to have Betsy back home for a while!

Introducing our first homebred Cairn champion, Luckenbooth's Heavens to Betsy! She finished today with her third major (5 points!) in Orlando at the Space Coast KC of Palm Bay show by being awarded WB/BOW by judge Mr. Robert E. Hutton. We can't thank Nick and Chelsay Paul-Grubb enough for all of the hard work, love and care that they have given her these past few months. 💗

Betsy had a great weekend in West Friendship, MD! Picked up two more points under judges Mrs. Christine Calcinari and Mrs. April Clyde, going WB/BOW. Just one more to finish! Thanks so much to Nick Grubb for piloting her. 💗

We received our win photos from last weekend! Betsy began November winning back-to-back majors, going WB/BOW at Middleburg KC on Nov. 3 under judge Mr. Richard W. Powell for 3 points and WB at Charlottesville Albemarle KC on Nov. 4 under judge Mr. Dana Cline for 4 points in Doswell, VA.

There was only competition one day this past weekend, but she was awarded WB/BOB over the special for one point Saturday at Kalamazoo KC, judge Mr. Dana Cline. Only 5 singles to go!
