DARBY is playing hide and seek. Charity says she doesn’t want the weekend to end, so she is hiding. How cute is her tiny self?!
You have to know SAMMY’s story to appreciate what otherwise may seem like no big deal. He had been horrifically abused when he was surrendered to his vet. He has been a work in progress for the last three plus years post-adoption to bring him to the point to enjoy other dogs and other people at all. This is such a major break through for him, one we have been praying for since we first met him. John was just the right dad who conquered Sammy’s fears through endless patience and love.
John had just lost his Beagle companion Harley of many years when he began his search for another to bring into his life. Harley had been abused also until John adopted him in Texas, and John wished to help another with the same needs. John’s sister in Maryland is actually who found Sammy on our Petfinder page and forwarded his bio to John. The rest is history, but tonight’s news is what we have been waiting and praying to hear.
From John:
“Sammy’s been making friends at doggy day care!!! This is Sammy and his new BFF at day care, Gus….🤣🤣🤣 When we get there in the mornings, Sam just walks right back like he owns the place😂😂😂”
Doggie day care! Who would have thought that would ever happen! You go, Sammy. You got this! We all love you and have your back.
I don’t think I’ve seen anyone enjoy toys and playing nice with others any more than our LINDY. She is healthy, heartworm negative now, and we just updated her annual vaccinations.
Her BFF, LAUREL, and running buddy as strays in Tipton County, TN, was heartworm negative and healthy at intake and was quickly adopted while Lindy had much vetting to do.
Lindy is doing great now and loving life in her foster home with Aunt Regina and Uncle Tim. But she knows her perfect family is out there somewhere, just waiting to find her.
Where is LOTTE? There she is!
Lee Anne thinks she is on scent of a kitty that may sometimes take refuge under the patio chair.
Lee Anne, we soooo appreciate your taking Lotte under your Angel wings and giving her the best life she could ever have imagined after being a dumped hunting dog in Holly Springs, MS, skinny and feeling defeated. We know she’ll never take MILLIE’s place, but it looks like Lotte is well on her way to making her own place. Millie would be happy you are helping another in need of a good home. She knows her place is solid in your heart.
Congratulations, LAUREL and Al, on your 2nd Gotcha Day anniversary!!! I well remember your driving to Mississippi from Colorado Springs about a week before Thanksgiving 2022 to meet Laurel and take her forever home in CO. I have sooo enjoyed your updates but more importantly your friendship over these two years. Laurel has truly thrived in your care. Love this update:
“Two feet of snow on the ground this week. Laurel is a trooper though and braves the elements to do her business, then dashes back inside. The stuff in the back yard is the construction materials for the patio cover, contracted for in June. On a happier note…November 10, 2024 is Laurels second Dogaversary! Two years together.”
Our sweet little LILY and her mom Doreen from North Carolina just checked in with us to let us know they are safe but not completely unscathed:
“Yes, Lily has been to the Biltmore village, Asheville , Lake Lure, Black Mountain, Grandfather's Mountain,Boone, Greenville and many more in between....here being on Mountain Island Lake, many homes that had boat docks floated away when the lake crested to a historic high, the dam had to open the flood gates and a major bridge into downtown is closed, maybe permanently due to damage...We were without power for a day and a half, trees came down on the one road into and out of our community...but of course nothing in comparison to the western NC and TN border...
