I know you’ve heard me talk about Bocce’s Bakery. It’s a bakery for dogs that began as a cottage business. All treats are healthy and have very limited ingredients. This Christmas, they are introducing a 12 day Advent Calendar for dogs. I have already ordered my 3 calendars for my 3 personal dogs. Since I give my dogs treats rarely and break them in half anyway when I do, a 12 day calendar suits us just fine. Visit their website. I noticed Amazon is carrying the Bocce calendars too.

Count down the days until your pup sees Santa Paws with our 12-day advent calendar filled with our minty Brushy Sticks and two delicious flavors of biscuits! 3 fun recipes: Brushy Sticks + two fun flavored biscuits Natural wheat-free Baked in the USA with 100% real ingredients Count down to see Sant...

Jeff in Orlando just sent us this picture of big brother Bruce Lee celebrating his 4th actual birthday with “sisters” ZOEY/Bella and EVIE/Brie. He is such a sweet brother to our girls, and the feeling is mutual according to Jeff—nothing sweeter than a Beagle’s heart for sure.

DARBY! This baby wants to wish us a very happy Thanksgiving all the way from her home in Rhode Island. Love mom Charity’s message:

“Happy Thanksgiving from this little turkey! Wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday!!! She brings joy wherever she goes! I can’t tell you how often I’m out with her at a store, and people tell me that Darby has made their day! She sits in the shopping cart and when people come over to say hi, she licks them and lets them hug her. She is a therapy dog without the license! Ha ha ha”

We do not understand how or why BUNKY has not already found his forever home. He completed heartworm treatment last Wednesday, just as our Taylor did, but, like Taylor, he must rest for the next 3 weeks. Then, both will be safe to start easing back into an active life.

We met Bunky’s foster mom Amy at the vet clinic last Thursday when she came to take Bunky back home with her for that final rest period. What a treat it was to get to see Bunky again. He is such a cute, friendly, loving Beagle boy. If you are thinking about adding a Beagle to your family, you cannot go wrong meeting this precious little dog who loves life and everyone in his life, including the cats he has met. He truly will brighten your every day!!! He is about 2 years and 24 pounds of PRECIOUS!!!

We were so excited yesterday to receive a message from Ingrid about our EMMIE, adoption class 2021. What better way to enjoy a nice fall day than family time to hike through one of the Alabama state parks.

Our friend and often foster mom Reginia saw Emmie posted on Facebook. Emmie had made her way to a family’s property after being discarded, all alone and hungry. The family had posted Emmie on FB in hopes of finding her family, but no one stepped forward to claim her. Regina immediately let us know and offered to go and get her. Three months later, Ingrid found Emmie on our Petfinder site, and the rest of that story is now history. From day 1 with Ingrid and her family, Emmie has been a loved and spoiled family member. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you, Ingrid.

There is zero doubt that this super deserving little Beagle boy will be celebrating his very first REAL Christmas this year. I do believe that Christmas has always been “just another sad day” in his former life.

HARLEY/Harris was one of the most physically needy Beagles we have ever taken in. In spite of that, he was also one of the sweetest Beagle boys for us, never complaining or letting his former life drag his spirits down. Actually, that is exactly what Tim and Melissa were looking for—a Beagle boy who most needed them. His new “sister” Nala quickly helped to acclimate him to his new life. We are so appreciative of this family and their heartwarming updates on our boy:

“Harris got to meet Santa! Turns out he’s on the nice list. 😊 We’re making sure he gets lots of love and has a good Christmas. Melissa has already got him a stocking with his initial on it.” 💙💙💙

This sweet Beagle girl has had quite a journey, but as of today, there are 2 major changes in her life.

TAYLOR, now known as Nadine, has a permanent last name—Greer! She is now officially ADOPTED! In spite of her very early life, of which we know nothing, she has been infinitely blessed by a village of people: Kelly for being her Good Samaritan, finding Taylor wandering down a state highway, and not having the heart to leave Taylor there but bringing her home, trying to find Taylor’s owner (no luck there), caring for Taylor until she could secure rescue for her; Grace Rescue’s friend Lee Anne introducing us to Bridgett who in turn agreed to foster Taylor going into heartworm treatment. But, before we could actually begin heartworm treatment, Taylor caught the eyes of Shane and Renee from our Petfinder site and who had just lost a beloved Beagle and their other Beagle Weezie was grieving the loss of her “sibling.” It took no time at all to approve Shane’s and Renee’s application and arrange a greet and meet with Taylor, who went home with them that very day. Soooo, Shane and Renee agreed to foster-to-adopt Taylor until the day her heartworm treatment was in the books. Today is that day.

Taylor, what a wonderful life you have ahead of you. Be a good girl for about 30 more days of rest, and then the world will be yours to explore and run zoomies of excitement as much as you wish. Happy rest of your life, precious one! Happy forever! We are so happy for you and thankful for your Village!

These two cuties, BUNKY and TAYLOR, are headed back to Dr. Ruth tomorrow morning for a 2-day stay to receive their back-to-back heartworm injections. So far so good, but they still will need to rest another 30 days after these injections. As much as the shots hurt, I think the lack of play is, at the very least, just as “painful” in its own way.

Say a little prayer for these babies.

It’s fleece time at our house—not liking this cold snap. Can’t help but wonder what winter has in store for us, especially in Holly Springs where power often goes off for no apparent reason.

Congratulations, LAUREL and Al, on your 2nd Gotcha Day anniversary!!! I well remember your driving to Mississippi from Colorado Springs about a week before Thanksgiving 2022 to meet Laurel and take her forever home in CO. I have sooo enjoyed your updates but more importantly your friendship over these two years. Laurel has truly thrived in your care. Love this update:

“Two feet of snow on the ground this week. Laurel is a trooper though and braves the elements to do her business, then dashes back inside. The stuff in the back yard is the construction materials for the patio cover, contracted for in June. On a happier note…November 10, 2024 is Laurels second Dogaversary! Two years together.”

Our sweet ONYX/now Sam is having the time of his life living in the northeast. What a beautiful part of the country, just made for long hikes with family and his two Golden siblings. We are so very appreciative to our sister rescue for taking in our sweet Oynx and for his fantastic placement!!!

Not only are we thankful that Jeff and Becky and their Beagle kids were safe after both Helene and Milton, even though both hurricanes came through or near Orlando, but they especially are fortunate that their favorite dog park had little to no damage. They belong to a large group of Beagle parents who bring everyone together once each month to socialize and play together, something they all look forward to doing.

Our QUINCY/Chester and our CASSIE/Hazel have had such a wonderful life for now several years since being adopted together by Bob Keena in midtown Memphis. His backyard always looks like Heaven on Earth as it shows off his other love, gardening, and where better than midtown Memphis with all the old oak trees and their canopies of shade letting in patches of sunlight. The “bestest”news for Hazel and Chester is that dad is now recently retired, and Bob describes retirement as such a blessing to be with Hazel and Chester all day, enjoying them, enjoying this fall setting, although I know all of your friends from MCC miss you, Bob. You were loved by many there. Congratulations on your retirement—job well done for so many years.
