Happy Independence Day to all from our sweet patriot LAUREL, who has just moved with her dad from Colorado Springs to South Dakota. May you have a peaceful 4th, Laurel, without the fireworks that frighten you so much. I’m afraid we’re in for a looooong weekend of fireworks here.

The working Beagles should have the same legal status as trained police dogs and the same penalties for being assaulted. Assault is exactly what that was.

WOW! Really have to appreciate this because Beagles are hard to train. It takes a lot of patience because, being scent hounds, they are easily distracted.

Our little green shark MAY MAY and her sister Dolly in pink life jacket are so lucky to have a lake house, given unseasonably hot temps in Massachusetts. Thank you Katherine and Scott for the pictures and update:

“This is our first boat day out on the lake. Water is 82 and both girls are having a good time.”

Here in Holly Springs, we have mid-90s temperatures with heat indices 102 right now. 😬 No predicted relief until Friday.

How sweet is this not long ago abandoned and homeless little Beagle girl, LOTTE? Love seeing her spoiled rotten. She deserves to be. Until you came into her life, Lee Anne, she had no clue life could be soooo good. She couldn’t dream about what she didn’t know about. Thank you for all you and Barbara do for her. 🥰🫶🏼

TIPPER, now Clyde, is ready for the big game tonight between LSU and Arkansas in the semi finals of the College World Series. For those of you who follow collegiate sports, you may or may not be aware that we in the SEC take all of our sports very seriously, VERY seriously, right Becki Brothers? Graduates of Ole Miss, Bill and I bleed red and blue. NEVER in my life have I EVER pulled for LSU UNTIL Tipper was adopted a few years ago by a precious LSU family, perfect for him and he for them, with both Michelle and Eric being LSU graduates. Tipper even lives in walking distance of Lake Pontchartrain and walks there twice daily. Sooooo, we have become supporters of each others’ schools except when we play against each other.

Michelle just messaged me:

“Clyde says he is tired of waiting! He’s ready to watch the Tigers play! Friends are coming by, here’s to hoping they leave their snacks unattended.”

We’ll be watching and pulling for LSU and hope they are one and done to advance to the finals.

How we love seeing DARBY living her best life. Mom Charity is so good to “check in” with us from time to time to share the latest in Darby’s adventures. She LOVES the water and going to the harbor in Providence, RI, to watch the boats. I envy her because I, too, love the water and always looked forward to summer visits with my aunt in Florida to decompress from the demands I put on myself during the school year. Then, I could return to MUS in August, ready to do it all over again for “my boys” I taught. I miss my aunt and those visits so very much.

But, this post is about “Darbs,” and Charity shared these pictures and update with me just now:

“She is also obsessed with the rabbit who seems to be back in our yard after a short hiatus. 🤪 Darby is so nimble that she can jump onto the window sill like a balance beam. She does this from the bed and even from the floor. Here’s a video of her gymnastics.”
