Congratulations, LAUREL and Al, on your 2nd Gotcha Day anniversary!!! I well remember your driving to Mississippi from Colorado Springs about a week before Thanksgiving 2022 to meet Laurel and take her forever home in CO. I have sooo enjoyed your updates but more importantly your friendship over these two years. Laurel has truly thrived in your care. Love this update:
“Two feet of snow on the ground this week. Laurel is a trooper though and braves the elements to do her business, then dashes back inside. The stuff in the back yard is the construction materials for the patio cover, contracted for in June. On a happier note…November 10, 2024 is Laurels second Dogaversary! Two years together.”
Our sweet little LILY and her mom Doreen from North Carolina just checked in with us to let us know they are safe but not completely unscathed:
“Yes, Lily has been to the Biltmore village, Asheville , Lake Lure, Black Mountain, Grandfather's Mountain,Boone, Greenville and many more in between....here being on Mountain Island Lake, many homes that had boat docks floated away when the lake crested to a historic high, the dam had to open the flood gates and a major bridge into downtown is closed, maybe permanently due to damage...We were without power for a day and a half, trees came down on the one road into and out of our community...but of course nothing in comparison to the western NC and TN border...
OAKLEY had a high ole time last night acclimating to Aunt Regina’s house as a new guest. She has the perfect “circle” for zoomies. Did Oakley ever need his zoomies!
LINDY continues to have a blast at Aunt Regina’s playing with toys and Regina’s little dog. Good thing Regina sees house zoomies as a good thing. 😁 Zoomies mean “happy dog.”
TAYLOR is one of our two newest intakes. Today was a very special day for her, because she was invited to Bridgett’s house to be fostered. We couldn’t be more pleased with her introductions to Bridgett’s 4 dogs, including an alpha female terrier. From Bridgett this afternoon:
“Going well so far! She hasn’t pottied yet but she’s eaten a little bit which is a good sign. She’s met 3 of the dogs, including the dominant terrier….Taylor is so sweet. She’s still nervous but she will adjust quickly. My crew is doing fine….I’m pretty sure she knows the word ‘sit.’ “
Fingers and paws crossed for this sweet Beagle girl as she settles in before heartworm treatment begins later this month. You are loved, Taylor! .
