Introducing ➡️ Spring Break Kids Camp! ☀️🐾 It’s the perfect opportunity for K-5 students to learn about animals, compassion, and responsible pet care—all while having a blast!

Dates: March 10-14
Time: 9 AM – 12 PM
Cost: $350 per camper
Ages: Kindergarten – 5th grade (Cap 10 Students)

Campers will engage in hands-on activities, meet adorable shelter pets, and participate in interactive lessons designed to inspire a love for animals. We're so excited to offer this opportunity!

This is Egg. 🐣 She's the cutest, happiest, squishiest little pup, and she's READY to find her forever home! She was also perfectly content wearing this silly little outfit. 🤩 She's been back at FHS alone this week because the rest of her crew was adopted over the weekend. 🥺🐾

Egg is 12 weeks old, 15 lbs, and so full of love. She’s a busy little bee who’s happily distracted with toys indoors and obsessed with sticks outdoors. Egg is an enthusiastic eater, appropriately playful, excellent with other dogs, and she’s well on her way to being house-trained. Did we mention she has the squishiest puppy face? 🤩

Special THANK YOU to our friends at Beer City Dog Biscuits! They sent us a boatload of treats that our pups absolutely LOVE, and we are so, so grateful. 🧡

Beer City Dog Biscuits is a nonprofit organization in Grand Rapids, MI, dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through the creation of delicious, all-natural dog treats. Their Brew Bakers handcraft every biscuit with care, creating meaningful employment opportunities while spreading joy to pups everywhere.

Thanks to their generosity, we've got enough treats to keep our pups happy and healthy for quite some time while they await their forever homes. 🐾

Bocephus wants to go on a DATE! 🥰 We've turned the tables on our Dog Day Out program to help our dogs feel extra loved this Valentine's Day—join us for a Dog DATE Out on Friday, February 14th. 💗💕

Sign up to take one of our adoptable dogs for a two-hour date! ⬇️🐾

Whether it’s a walk in the park, a coffee date, or a dog park afternoon, you’ll give a shelter dog a chance to stretch their legs and enjoy some extra love. It’s also a great way to see if one of these pups might be your perfect match!

📅 When: Friday, February 14th
📍 Where: Pick up your date from Forsyth Humane Society
🐾 Time: Booking slots are TWO HOURS and limited based on the availability of dogs!

Meet Parker 🐾🤎

Parker is a handsome 4-year-old gentleman who has been patiently waiting for 75 days to find his forever home after being surrendered to our care due to his owner's health issues. He's been staying with an amazing foster for the last few weeks. Here are a few things they love about Parker. ⬇️

"Parker is the fourth dog we've fostered. He is an absolute ray of sunshine. Parker is a big boy, but he is so cuddly and behaves like he is a lap dog. If you are sitting on the couch, you are not safe from his kisses and cuddles!

We walk him every day, and he is learning to love the leash, but he is very curious about the squirrels that live on our street. He has the best manners and almost never begs, listens to everyone in the house, and is super laid back. When it is time to walk, he gets very excited, but he snuggles up immediately when we get home.

No matter who you are, if you give Parker scratches and let him sit in your lap, he will fall in love with you immediately. We can leave him home alone for a while, and he just hangs out, but when we get home, he follows everyone to see what they are up to!

Parker has been the most amazing pup to have in our house, and anyone would be extremely lucky to have him. He loves all people, adults and children, but he is probably meant to be in a single dog home.* He loves attention!

*Parker does play well with other dogs, but his play style can sometimes be too much for some dogs. We recommend a meet-and-greet for anyone with a dog interested in adopting Parker.

Today, we celebrate the life of one of our very own animal rescue champions, Kinsley James. 🕊️❤️

We first met Kinsley during our Miller Street Days. She was a volunteer and adoption counselor at FHS and, for years, served on the board of the Merit Pit Bull Foundation.

Despite her ongoing medical conditions and treatments, she was always ready to help our animals. She was a frequent foster who specialized in caring for bottle-baby puppies. She advocated passionately for Pit Bulls personally and professionally, and her efforts impacted so many underdogs and their Furever Families.

Kinsley was so young and had to fight hard for so long, but she never harped on her unfortunate circumstances. Instead, she spent her time surrounded by the people and animals she loved, and she truly made a difference in this world.

Kinsley’s passion for animal welfare was evident in every interaction, and her warmth, kindness, and compassion will forever be remembered. She left a lasting impact on our community, and her memory will continue to inspire us to carry forward the mission she cared so deeply about.

Her memorial service is today, February 5, 2025, at 2:00 PM at 3315 Silas Creek Pkwy, Winston-Salem. Our hearts are with Kinsley’s family, friends, and all who loved her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the same love she so freely gave to others.

To enrich our community by promoting the compassionate treatment of cats and dogs in Forsyth County, North Carolina.

Our Goal

In support of our mission, the Forsyth Humane Society (FHS) is committed to achieving a save rate of 90 percent for shelter animals in our County. Forsyth Humane Society has set a goal of reducing the euthanasia rate in Forsyth County from 64 percent in 2017 to 10 percent by 2023.
