Calm Life Canine is proud to once again be teaming up with Song Hill Winery to offer the Drink With Your Dog®️Winery Manners Class!

Take your dog's basic skills to the next level and earn the Level 1 Certified Winery/Brewery-Friendly Dog Title! Or earn your Level 2 or 3 Titles! This fun class is taught AT A WINERY, and focuses on all the essential skills for being a great winery (or brewery) buddy-focus around distractions, relaxing under the table, making good choices around food, wine or beer, and more! Learning good winery/brewery etiquette for you and your dog is the best thing you can do to keep wineries and breweries dog-friendly.

🕰️Time: 11am

💰Cost: $185 ($180 if paying by check)

✳️There is a screening process for the Winery/Brewery Manners Class. Your dog must be people-and-dog tolerant. Your dog does not have to be super out going or want to engage with every person or dog, but your dog does need to tolerate being in the same room with other people and dogs, and be comfortable in situations with strange dogs and humans in close proximity.

✳️✳️ Your dog should already have basic manners and leash skills. This class expands on the hard-work your dog has already put in. If your dog gets stressed, nervous or just too excited in new situations and around new dogs and people the brewery environment is not where training should start. Whining, barking, lunging at other humans and dogs is not appropriate for this class. All of the above can be worked on in private sessions. We would love to get you prepped for class!

Calm Life Canine and I teamed up for another fun day of AKC testing at RocDog’s new location! We titled 2 CGC dogs, 3 CGCA dogs, 1 Therapy Dog, 2 Novice Trick dogs, and 3 Intermediate Trick dogs. These teams put in a lot of work to make today successful and it was a pleasure to give them their hard earned titles. We also want to thank RocDog for allowing us to use their wonderful, newly renovated location! Keep up the hard work everyone!!

Yup

When we punish dogs for growling, even if they're growling at our child, we aren't helping them feel better about whatever it is that is threatening them. Instead, we are teaching to stop letting us know when they feel unsafe.

The result? A dog who stops giving us warning signs and "bites out of the blue."

And, that's how we create dangerous dogs. I'd much rather have a dog growl and tell me they're upset (so we have a chance to intervene and help them) than a dog who just bites without any warning signs.

A little late on posting but here are Wednesday’s day train pups! We are working through body handling, reactivity, leash skills, and just all around good life choices! These two worked real hard and were “dog” tired at the end of the day!

Join Kate's K-9's and I on Sunday, August 10th for another afternoon of AKC CGC & Trick Dog Title testing at Song Hill Winery!

We will start with the CGC (Canine Good Citizen) test, then move onto trick testing. Earn some titles, then celebrate with a glass of wine!

Calm Life Canine and I had a great time testing today!!

We had 3 CGC dogs, and 3 CGCA dogs!

On top of that we had 4 AKC Novice Trick Dogs, 2 AKC Intermediate Trick Dogs, and 2 AKC Advanced Trick Dogs!

We earned a total of $310 that will go directly to Ridge's Rescue, Inc.!

Thank you to those that came out to be tested today! It was wonderful to spend the day with you at the winery!
