Hey everyone!!! It's me Bandit!!! I first wanted to thank everyone for all their support the past two and a half years. Whew! What a long strange trip it's been! If it weren't for y'all, I might have crossed the rainbow bridge a long time ago. Anyway, this is a picture of me in my big yard with my Dad yesterday. I love the open air! As my Dad always says, "In the sun, we find our passion. In the sun, we find our purpose."

So as you all know, there are some scary monsters in the Town of Bennington who are trying to make it so that I can never be in the open air again. I have been a perfect angel in the past two and a half years... which is like 15 dog years!!! I haven't gotten loose, looked at anyone the wrong way... nothing. Yet they may be trying to pass a local law here where I am kept in a cage forevermore.

So about that...two updates and a request.
1. There is a mean cowardly man who started this campaign against me. My Dad told me not to say his name because he is so mean... but it rhymes with Barrett Smidbauer. Anyway... he called the COPS on my Dad cause of a Facebook post on AAO that simply said what these people were trying to do. The cop was a very nice man who knows about the First Amendment so everything was fine. But first these people try to criminalize barking... then they try to criminalize speech. My Dad says they should just fulfill their destiny and join the Taliban. I don't know what that means but if my Dad said it, it must be right.

2. So the Town attorneys and government MIGHT be backing down on this cruel and inhumane law that would keep me in a cage. We obtained affidavits (I don't know what that means but my Dad said it's good) from an expert veterinarian and shelter manager who both say this law is cruel and inhumane. So there is a Town Hall meeting at 6:30 tomorrow night (10-16-25) at 905 Old Alleghany Road in Bennington, New York. If any of you can... PLEASE come and speak out and speak up about this law. This is America, not Afghanistan...please let them know that in this country, dogs are valued, as is speech.

3. So many of you gave reviews to the Town Attorneys who drafted a law that would have criminalized barking and locked me in a cage, David Dimatteo and Elijah McWhittney. They somehow got them all removed... again, speech doesn't seem protected anymore. Then, a couple of these terrible people began rating AAO on Google and ruined AAO's perfect rating. Of course, those didn't get removed. Will you guys please tell everyone what AAO is all about by giving us a review? It'll make my Dad and all his friends very happy. :)

Calm Life Canine is proud to once again be teaming up with Song Hill Winery to offer the Drink With Your Dog®️Winery Manners Class!

Take your dog's basic skills to the next level and earn the Level 1 Certified Winery/Brewery-Friendly Dog Title! Or earn your Level 2 or 3 Titles! This fun class is taught AT A WINERY, and focuses on all the essential skills for being a great winery (or brewery) buddy-focus around distractions, relaxing under the table, making good choices around food, wine or beer, and more! Learning good winery/brewery etiquette for you and your dog is the best thing you can do to keep wineries and breweries dog-friendly.

❄️ THIS CLASS WILL TAKE PLACE OUTSIDE ON THE PATIO. BE PREPARED FOR CHILLY DAYS!

✳️There is a screening process for the Winery/Brewery Manners Class. Your dog must be people-and-dog tolerant. Your dog does not have to be super out going or want to engage with every person or dog, but your dog does need to tolerate being in the same room with other people and dogs, and be comfortable in situations with strange dogs and humans in close proximity.

✳️✳️ Your dog should already have basic manners and leash skills. This class expands on the hard-work your dog has already put in. If your dog gets stressed, nervous or just too excited in new situations and around new dogs and people the brewery environment is not where training should start. Whining, barking, lunging at other humans and dogs is not appropriate for this class. All of the above can be worked on in private sessions. We would love to get you prepped for class!

This will be a super fun walk to benefit a fabulous rescue!!!

🎃Howl-o-ween Fundraiser Pack Walk to benefit Ridge's Rescue, Inc.❗️

PLEASE SHARE!!

Join me on Saturday, October 25th at 1pm for a fun Halloween themed pack walk to raise money for a rescue that is very near and dear to my heart.

We will have a raffle basket drawing, as well as a costume contest with first place, and runners up prizes!

All of my pack walks have a purpose and are a great way to build your dog’s skills in new environments and around other dogs. They are also a great way to provide exercise and socialization in a contact-free, safe way.

The thing about socialization is that it isn’t about your dog greeting every person and dog. Socialization is about your dog learning how to choose calm behaviors, and feel relaxed in all situations. Controlled pack walks are a wonderful way to work on these skills.

Cost: $10 minimum donation per walk-All proceeds will go to Ridge's Rescue, Inc.😊

🌧️❄️☀️This walk will happen rain, snow or shine and run about 45-60 minutes!!

‼️Walk Rules‼️

🦴NO ON LEASH GREETINGS-it is a true skill for dogs to learn how to remain calm while on leash in the same environment as another dog without having to greet.
🦴Bring a food pouch and lots of food rewards!
🦴Six foot leash, NO retractable leashes please.
🦴Please have your dog wear a collar with identification on it.
🦴Dogs should have basic manners.
🦴If your dog needs extra space please have your dog wear a red bandana or red fabric attached to the leash. This will let others know to give you and your dog the necessary space. I will also have red fabric available.
🦴💧There will be NO sharing of water/bowels. Please bring water and a bowel for your own dog😊

We had another full house yesterday and got a lot of work in. Two were first timers-Moe (doodle) Seamus (Golden) and the two sisters-Maybelle (black) & Susie (lighy tan) are repeat day trainers. All four need work on their leash skills. Maybelle and Susie’s mom has already put a lot of work in as their improvement is huge! The boys are just starting their journey but worked so hard earning their naps! All four are working on their basic manners with a couple needing some behavioral work sprinkled in. The parents goal for most of this crew is to test for their CGC, with a couple going on to therapy dog work. Nothing makes Calm Life Canine and I more happy than to help these family’s reach their goals!🌟

We will start with the CGC (Canine Good Citizen) test, then move onto trick testing. Earn some titles, then celebrate with a glass of wine!
