Carolina Boxer Rescue is a volunteer run, 501(c)3 non-profit boxer rescue organization We place a particular emphasis on rescuing very old and very sick boxers.
Our mission is to rescue, medically rehabilitate, and re-home unwanted and abandoned Boxers. We strive to inform the communities we serve about the realities of pet ownership, promote spaying/neutering, and encourage responsible care. We place our boxers in permanent homes, following a thorough adoption process that includes reference checks and home visits. Boxers in our care are spayed or neuter
ed, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and are placed in foster homes where they will await placement in their furever homes. Join us in our mission to save the boxers and “leave no nub behind.”

Update on Augustus! He is still wonderful and such a good boy! We rarely see any of the anxiety issues he had at the beginning. I can now leave him completely free, no baby gate, with access to the fenced in back yard thru a doggy door and he does just fine while I am at work. I watch him on the cameras, and he sleeps on the couch, goes out to p*e, comes back in and sleeps on the couch! LOL! He has the funniest sleeping positions I have ever seen!
Lately was having some itching problems so I took him to the vet yesterday and they diagnosed him with " Dermatophytosis", which a fungal infection. They did a skin/hair culture under the microscope to determine. Started him on Apoquel and didn't say anything about a need for a followup appointment once he finished that. Said just to watch him and see how he does on the meds. I did some research when I got home that also said to get some anti-fungal shampoos to bathe him, so I ordered some from Chewy last night. There are topicals as well, but he will just lick them off, so we are going to try the baths, and the apoquel to see if that makes him feel better. If not, we will schedule a follow up. He was so good at the vet yesterday! After being so reactive at first due to his prior situation he has calmed down so much. Even the receptionist at the vet, said "that is a different dog"!

Lenny aka Buster week #4
These past 4 weeks have went by so fast. Buster has fit right in and bonded so much with his sister. They love keeping each other company while mom works from home. Buster went on his first golf cart ride this week and loved it! Thanks for all you do rescuing pups.

Dez update!
I may need a rescue party. My new mama was doing some cleaning and now I look like a deranged easter bunny. 😆 Please ignore my eye boogie. Mama's fault as well.
Mama, Papa, and my picky sister all adore me. Mama says I am a gift from my brother I never got meet that passed last Sept. Papa says he would have been my best buddy had we been given the chance to meet. Two old guys laying in the yard sunning themselves. Only getting up for the daily frozen treat.

Bruiser, now known as Bill, has done a complete 180 in the short few weeks that we have had him! When he first arrived, he was timid, terrified, and had never experienced love. All he had known was a life of being kept outside in the Georgia red clay, being used to breed. Thanks to Carolina Boxer Rescue, he had his first ever visit to the Veternarian and received all of the medical care that he needed.
From an outside pen in Georgia, Bill is now safe, loved, and spoiled in his new home in Pinehurst, NC. He already has a toy box full of toys and 2 happy little human boys that dote upon him. Thank you Carolina Boxer Rescue for everything that you do to help these amazing animals!

Good morning - I’m not sure what week we are actually on (due to Foster to adopt) but here is Lucy Lou’s 1st update!
Hi! My name is Lucy Lou aka LouLou (formerly known as Wine). The super skinny me was my second day in my foster home with my foster bro Hawk (former CBR Atlas). I decided I LIKED IT HERE so much, they would have no choice but to keep me because I fit right in! So, I did just that…and now I’m here to STAY FOREVER! I love to eat, eat, eat - mom says I hop like a deer for my food but that slow and steady will win the race - I’ve put on almost 15 lbs! Hawk is great - I use him as a bench when I want to sit 😆. I love my dad…I am his “Little Lou”, (won the big guy over by day 3! 😝) Yep, that means…I’m pretty spoiled! 🥰 Love, Lucy Lou

Ramsey is settling in and showing us he definitely in his toddler days! He gets zoomies every night at 9pm and then finds his little corner on the couch. His gangly legs have lengthened even more in 2 weeks and has his first appt at his new vet on Thursday! We can’t wait to see how much he’s grown officially… we just can’t get enough snuggles and lovies from him!

He's had a busy week playing with his sister. They both got baths tonight and he was a good boy. He's a cuddle bug and has to be touching you. He's also a bed hog. We're so happy him and his sister have bonded so well!

Wanted to send through another Rosa update. It’s been about 2 1/2 years since we adopted Rosa and we’ve enjoyed every minute of having her.
She continues to thrive in her home with her buddy, Gibbs. They walk together, play together, snuggle together, and everything in between.
She loves her car rides still (and gets multiple a week). She travels so well and typically gets to go to “camp” every summer and stay with my family in Ohio. They love her and look forward to it every year.
She is truly the best companion. She knows when you need snuggles, how to make us laugh, and is really a wonderful dog.
Everyone who meets her falls in love…we’ve even had people who said they were scared of dogs meet her and say they loved her too.
We recently got her DNA tested and turns out she 100% American Bulldog!
We love Miss Rosa so much and love having her as a part of our family.

Good morning! Mollie is doing great and is still being spoiled rotten. She loves going for walks, playing with toys, giving kisses, taking long naps, and car rides. She has such a fun-loving and sweet personality - it already feels like she’s always been part of our family.

So it’s been just over a year since Luna came to live with us as a foster (then adopted in Oct.)
She went for her yearly check up and is doing great. Still keeping an eye on her ears. We have her on a Salmon and sweet potato diet which is helping.
We had to adjust our house to block off the front door (which is the place she guards the with her life) with a very large gate.
She and her brother (Buddy) get along for the most part. We are very careful when people come in that she doesn’t get overly protective of our home and start a conflict with him.
They play tug a war and even engage in some typical Boxer play in the mornings which make me happy. Luna follows Buddy around the backyard keeping the birds and squirrels out of “their yard”.
Luna has definitely made herself at home and we ❤️ her

Peyton is adjusting well and becoming a regular farm dog. He’s still not 100% sure of the cows, but he loves his big human and pup sisters. We’re working on potty training and not chasing chickens.

Happy Tails Tuesday!! I hope everyone is having a nice spring! I thought I would send a few pictures of Midge. She is doing just great! She remains wonderfully active and we have found some trails where she can run off leash and chase squirrels and other creatures. She is so agile and graceful, and can jump like a deer! She also has many friends that she plays with often – some are in the pictures and video.
$5 Friday Edison is new to rescue and as you can see has back end weakness. This deaf boy found himself as a stray in the shelter. We will be dedicating today’s donations to his medical care to determine the cause of his weakness. Depending on his diagnosis his ongoing treatment could require weekly treatment.
