We’ve missed you and we are coming back! We will be at the Vernon Parish Animal Shelter on July 21 and July 28. There is a $25 non-refundable deposit per pet, and all pets must come with a carrier/crate. We are unable to accommodate dogs 70lbs and up.

Its NOT all "how you raise them"

There, I said it.

Genetics play a HUGE role in canine behavior.

Pointers point, retrievers retrieve, livestock dogs herd, guardian dogs guard....why??... Genetics!

Whatever breed you have exists for a reason/purpose and was selectively bred for that purpose.

Be a responsible dog owner. Research the breed before you commit to one. Know the behaviours and how to use them, or redirect them.

ADOPTED!!! 5-24-22

This cute little beagle boy is at the shelter now, he is already neutered and has had his shots, and is about 3 years old. He can be adopted for $10. The shelter is open 8 am - 3:30 pm, checks or money order only.
Hank was surrendered because his owners could no longer take care of him. He is crate trained, house broke, and knows how to use a pet door, neutered and up to date on his shots. Please adopt!
