Bess is truly exceptional but her mom works really hard on her training so it’s a great match. Her mom had a goal Last night of teaching her to put away her toys. Weeks ago, I showed her mom how to train a Retrieve and she did her homework and Bess’ retrieve is quite impressive now. So once Bess had a retrieve down we could train fun tricks like putting away her toys. This is after her lesson last night. In an upbeat tone call your dog’s name when they turn or move towards you mark yes then feed when they get to you. Ask them to sit then release with free! I recommend grabbing their collar then feeding so you’ve got them under control immediately. This also helps to eliminate the keep away game they sometimes like to play. Masie learns to file her own nails with this scratching post. Put treats inside drawer and let your dog see you do it. Open and close drawer to show your dog the treats are inside. Your dog will paw the scratching post when they do mark yes, open drawer and grab treat then feed. Repeat. Wufur enjoys his new PetGeek treat dispensing toy. He taps the remote and a treat is dispensed across the room. It’s a great way to mentally stimulate your dog and burn energy. Our only issue was we needed to tape the remote down as it would not stick to ground. Wufur was Rescued from @nycacc a reminder that wonderful dogs are waiting in shelters near you.
