The final NESS show Muskoka Horse Co Inc. is this Sunday!

What you need to know:
⭐️ Show starts at 8am with the Equitation Ride off that was rained out at Langman Farms.
⭐️ Show ring opens at 7am to ride in.
⭐️ Look for parking signs and attendants, spectator parking will be across the road and trailer parking will be on show grounds.
⭐️ See attached order of divisions for number of entries in each division.
⭐️ No dogs allowed. We all love dogs, but please leave them at home.
⭐️ Sully's Eats & Treats will be serving up delicious food all day.
⭐️ Don't forget to keep your ears and eyes open for Sportsmanship nominations!

🌧 The forecast is not looking the greatest, we will be keeping an eye on our ring condition throughout the day Saturday, for now, the show is a go and we can not wait to see everyone and make the most out of the day!

🎉NEW AWARD ANNOUNCEMENT: At the year-end banquet, we will be awarding a NESS participant with the Sportsmanship Award.

This individual will be chosen by NESS participants, volunteers, parents and friends.

Rules:
⭐ Nomination must be for a rider who has participated in a NESS show.
⭐ Nominations can come from any one person who sees a participant who exemplifies Sportsmanship.
⭐ Nominations must be for a participant from another barn than the one you ride at.
⭐ Send a message to the NESS Facebook or Instagram page to nominate this individual with a short reason why you nominated them.
⭐ The individual with the most nominations will receive the Sportsmanship Award, in the event there is a tie, a name will be chosen at random.

🏆 What is Sportsmanship? It is an understanding of and commitment to fair play, ethical behavior and integrity, and general goodwill toward an opponent. It is an affirmation that an athlete is disciplined enough to have perspective, maintain poise and do what is best for his or her teammates.

⭐ Spectators be sure to bring lawn chairs and shade for watching in the ring.

⭐️ In an effort to set a standard for bio security, please take time to educate riders, volunteers and spectators the importance of keeping distance between other facilities' horses, not sharing buckets and equipment, and not petting horses from other facilities. If your equine partner is experiencing any signs of illness or been in contact with an ill horse to please stay home. Please help to keep our equine athletes healthy and performing at their best!

ATTENTION NESS #2 Riders:

In an effort to keep our equine community safe during recent announcements of a possible Strangles positive horses in our area, we have decided to postpone the show that was to be held at Muskoka Horse Co Inc. this weekend until August 25, 2024.

Entry fees will be held over to the August 25th show. If you are unable to attend this new date, please contact Jason at Muskoka Horse Co. to arrange a refund, 705-641-0754.

More details for the Equitation Ride Off, NESS #2 hosted by Muskoka Horse Co Inc.

Here's what you need to know:
🏅 Enter before the Walk/Trot Division Starts for a chance to participate in the ride off. Cost for the class, $20 HST, please bring cash for ease of administering this class.
🏅 Place first in a class, and you qualify to enter (excludes Leadline).
🏅 Minimum 10 riders required to run the class, if there is not enough riders to run, class cost will be returned to each rider.
🏅 Takes place after the Developing Equitation Division at the end of the day.
🏅 Top 3 riders in the ride off will be asked to complete a test determined by the judge. Walk/Trot only riders will not be penalized if asked to canter.
🏅 1st place - $100, 2nd place - $50, 3rd place - $25, ribbons to 8th place.

Everyone that showed should so proud of themselves no matter where you have placed. Showing horses takes, grit, determination and so much hard work. 💪 Keep up the practice and we will see everyone in a few short weeks for NESS #2!

A note from Querencia Stables:

Are you competing at the NESS #1 show on Sunday? Here are a few important reminders ‼️

🔹 Start time is 9am, see the attached photo for division entry details.

🔹In order to receive your back number, all competitors are required to sign a waiver. Participants under the age of 18 must have a guardian’s signature. If this applies to you, please be accompanied by your guardian when you come to pick up your number. Be sure to check with your coach to see if you can get these signed ahead to save time registering.

🔹Riders are required to wear a back number while riding at all times.

🔹While we prefer you to bring water for your horses, we do have a tap available in the barn should you need additional water.

🔹For safety reasons, we ask that everyone maintains a safe distance from all streams and ponds.

🔹While we absolutely love dogs, we ask that you please leave your pets at home.

🔹Photographed is a map to help competitors navigate our grounds. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday!

We have been overwhelmed by interest of individuals wanting to show the NESS series. What started out as a couple of barns getting together to provide show experience for their lesson students has grown into so much more!

Welcome to Northern Equestrian Schooling Series (NESS).

We are so excited to promote a schooling series which focuses on developing the equestrian rider in a competitive setting. This is done through welcoming environments, divisions that cater to different rider experience and judge feedback.
