Bradley (formerly Bradley Chonkers) is still available for adoption! 4 years young, up to date on shots, and neutered. Bradley is a beautiful Aussie Shep mix that would do great in a home with other animal friends. Bradley had a rough start in life and would love to finally settle in his forever home. He is nervous at the vet (like most Aussies) and can take a little time to trust but once he does he's loyal. Bradley will do best in a home with no small children. He really goes bonkers around other dogs so if you need a playmate for your dog, this boy is it! Dogs tend to really bring him out of his shell. He has a very mesmerizing look with one amber eye and one ice blue eye. He also gets along with his farm animal friends. He is currently in a home with dogs and a cat. **BRADLEY CHONKERS (A523603)**
Back in early March, our road officers received a call from our friends at the Orange County Sheriff's Office to assist them with a call. They were responding to a deceased person call, and found a sweet but fearful dog hiding inside. The dog was very friendly, but did not want to leave his owner's side. Our officers responded, and that is how we met Bradley Chonkers.
Extremely timid, this six year old shied away from people, but seemed fine around other dogs. Bradley spent some time in foster care with one of our staff members, and it definitely did him some good. Still, he’s going to need a lot of patience and love, as he's had a pretty traumatic life. You see, this wasn't Bradley's first brush with law enforcement. The private rescue where Bradley came from was shut down last year for cruelty and neglect. We don't know much about his past, but we do know Bradley yearns for attention and love. For Bradley, it's a trust that needs to be earned.
He loves to eat, and loves his treats. For health reasons, this sweet six year old will have to be on a pretty restrictive diet to get him back into shape. He does not like his paws being touched, and he is definitely a one person dog. Bradley falls in love with his human, and displays a little separation anxiety when apart from them. He is great with other dogs, and in the short while he’s been here he’s assisted our behavior team multiple times with assessing other dogs.
One of the most striking features about Bradley is his eyes, as one is a bright and intense blue, and the other is a soft dark brown. It gives him a very different, show stopping stare.
We know Bradley’s been through some sad times losing his owner, but we know the right heart is going to change his life. With time, a little patience, and a lot of love, this handsome boy is going to be an incredible companion.
Let’s get him seen. Let’s get him home.
