Adoptions and Pre-adoptions:
All cats and kittens in our care are fully vetted before they leave us to go to their forever home. Fully vetted means all of the following conditions have been met:
• Weaned from their mother
• Eating solid food
• FIV/FeLV “Combo” test
• Age appropriate vaccinations
• Parasite treatment
• Spay/Neuter surgery (kittens must weigh a minimum of 2lbs, typically, kitten

s will be about eight weeks old at this point).
• Microchip completed
• Any other medical treatment deemed necessary by our veterinarian

Occasionally kittens age 6 weeks and older may be available for pre-adoption, this means you are securing the adoption of the kitten in advance. Pre-adopted kittens will not be released and will remain in foster care until fully vetted and recovered from spay (5 days) or neuter (1 day).

The story of Claude Monet's ceramic cat.
There are many stories about how cats return to their owners over the years. But, perhaps, the cat that belonged to Claude Monet can be considered a champion – she returned to her home almost a century after the artist's death.
During the Impressionist's lifetime, the glazed ceramic animal from Japan lay curled up on a pillow for a long time in the bright yellow dining room of the house in Giverny, surrounded by Japanese prints. Then the relic had disappeared and was found almost by accident.
The cat, created in the middle of the XIX century, was previously estimated at 25-35 thousand Hong Kong dollars. However, its final cost exceeded the lower estimate threshold by more than twenty times and amounted to 525 thousand Hong Kong dollars or 67 thousand US dollars.
The owner of the relic was the Japanese art dealer and numismatist Hideyuki Wada. He had immediately donated the statuette to the Claude Monet Foundation, which opened the house in Giverny to visitors.
Now the cat has returned to Monet's dining room and settled back on the pillow. Above it hangs a facsimile of one of the Japanese prints that the impressionist had collected.

We are reaching out to you with a heartfelt plea for help. This sweet kitten, Pixy Stix, is at UC Davis right now and in urgent need of surgery due to a severe leg/hip fracture, she had a freak accident and fell down the stairs while playing with her sister, Lollipop.
Pixy Stix is not just a pet, but a beloved family member, and we are doing everything we can to ensure she gets the care she needs.
The estimated cost of the surgery is $6300. We are turning to our community for support and any donation, no matter how small, will make a huge difference.

Cat Rescue and Fostering

Kitten fostering allows socialization for young kittens with humans and other pets. It gives space for mother cats to continue nurse their babies, and time for sick or injured cats to get the loving care and attention to heal. Kittens without foster homes, face uncertain futures. Foster homes also free up space within the shelter, which means more lives are saved!

We are working closely with shelters, veterinarians, and The Humane Society to spay and neuter as many cats as possible. The kitten population in Solano - Napa County is at a terrifying level. With many of the kittens dying early in life, becoming victims of cruelty as well as contracting illnesses and causing no end of medical problems for them - many of whom pass away in a slow, lingering death all alone.

To reduce these preventable losses, our goal is to spay and neuter as many cats as possible many of whom come from feral colonies. Solano Kitten Network aims to try to reduce uncontrolled populations as much as possible; through 100% volunteer team members.
