Update: this sweet boy has officially been ADOPTED! 🎉
After careful consideration and speaking with multiple applicants, Big Foot found his match! Once all plans are in place, he will be headed to his new home!! We will post an update when available. Thank you all for sharing his story and loving this boy as much as we do!
Thank you to all of you who reached out to adopt. Please know that it is very important to all of us to find the right match for each shelter animal. We hope you will consider adopting one of the other amazing pups looking for their forever home, too.
Update: Big Foot has a lot of interest! The shelter has received a ton of applications over the last two days and MANY voice mails. Please be patient as they make their way through in deciding on the best fit for Big Foot and a his new home. The shelter wants to do what is best for everyone, last thing they want is for him to be returned or end up at another shelter. We promise to keep everyone updated! Thank you for all the comments, shares, and concern!
Update: As of this evening, Big Foot had no meet and greets today. He did spend the day in our bonding room to decompress while waiting for potential adopters. We tested him with other dogs again and he did much better! Still hoping for his forever home soon.
It’s been a struggle to watch Big Foot decline over the last few months. We’ve posted him several times, and sadly, he’s had very little interest.
His story is quite simple. He came to the shelter no fault of his own after his owner was placed in an assisted living care. She loved him and worried about him. We promised to do our best to find him a home. So far, we have not succeeded.
The shelter is not ideal for any animal, but some have a harder time than others. And Big Foot has really struggled to adjust. He is lonely. He feels lost.
He was surrendered to the shelter with other dogs, but stress has taken a toll on him, and recently, he has not tested well with other dogs. So at this time, we would recommend an only dog home. At least until he can regain his confidence.
We don’t make ‘desperate pleas’ often, but it is becoming too hard to watch his days filled with sadness. So we are asking that if you are looking for a pet, please consider giving Big Foot a home. He just wants someone to love.
