After a morning treating other people's dogs... Benji gratefully got settled for a session.

He hasn't been himself lately, taking himself away, being more anxious and walking even slower than usual. I think I found out why! He has a very painful shoulder and perhaps his harness has been aggravating it further.

Fingers crossed he is more himself from now on.

If your dog is not acting like they usually do why not consider getting them a massage...❤️

It is often automatic to try to correct your dog when they growl at you... But to keep everyone safe, including your dog, we really need to find ways to listen to and correctly respond to it. Never punish a growl...be thankful that there is communication.

Growling is communication. Always just communication. How else are our dogs going to ask for the space they need if we punish them for growling? Take away the growl and they have no choice but to go straight to a bite.

Family outing to support Amber (the beautiful girl in the middle) during her massage this morning. Amber had a very sore back today, but luckily an observant grandson had noticed some small changes in her behaviour recently and suggested she come back to see me... 😍

It's so true. I help so many dogs with arthritis to get on with their lives.

Muscles pull on bones to create movement, and when arthritis is present, the joint has to recruit extra support of muscles which leads to your dog offloading, overcompensating on other limbs, primary as well as secondary areas of muscular and myofascial pain, and habitual patterns of tension throughout the whole body

4 dogs in the clinic today. ❤️ Massage has been life changing for old boys Leo and Whiskey and young pup Xavi moves better after his massage which helps him in the show ring.

It's now too hot to treat. With Benji struggling with me being in the clinic without him at the moment I ended up commuting today. I took my table but most of the work with the was with them lying on me....

Then, back home to assemble a pen in the clinic so that I can work tomorrow....

We are working on his insecurities and hope to be back to normal soon...but whilst that work goes on we need to improvise with him in the clinic where client dogs are happy with that...

Morning, does anyone local have an expanding pen / room dividers? My woolly boy is experiencing severe separation anxiety and is howling when I am in my clinic. I don't think he is so worried when I am away from the house.

I would like to bring him into the clinic whilst I work on the issue, but he will need to be separated from your dogs.

The handsome Archie is new to massage... But after his session and a quick stretch all he wanted to do was settle down to a proper nap.

Mother and Daughter in the clinic yesterday... I have been treating mum for a while now. Her daughter came for her very first session and I think I am safe in saying she loved it.

Golden Retrievers are awesome dogs and make perfect massage clients as well as amazing family pets.

Last year I couldn't go on holiday much. If I left Eva with someone else... She would become stress incontinent. If we took her with us, she would also have many accidents. So, we didn't go away much.

When a close family member suggested this weekend that she should have been put down then.... Well, I hope you can imagine my response. I was furious and wounded.

This is exactly why I set up My Dog Matters.... A Facebook group for owners of older dogs. A place to ask questions, seek support and find out more about things that affect their older dogs.

It's too hot to massage dogs... Did you know that massage actually creates heat in the body? With temperatures now at 30° I don't need to be introducing more heat.

But earlier this morning Benji did get his monthly treatment from Lynn Pearce. He is now very happy to snooze the rest of the day away.

This is Pedro. He initially came to me because his owners thought he was quiet and just not himself.

I am pleased to report he now has his spark back and is once again stealing tools from any workman that is foolish enough to visit. ❤️

I had a busy day yesterday. It started with Benji rolling in fix poo 💩 and then wandering off. After 10 minutes I found him with his head on an overspilling bin 🤢.

Then a health check and 4 massage treatments at Mcgrumpy and Snuffles before an evening of dance and my Granddaughter's dance school or on their summer show.

Phew, now for a day of sport and sleep. What are you up to today?

It is a small blue blanket. It was Eva's favourite. As part of my own healing journey I am lucky to have .awakening.love in my corner.

Anna provides space, time and healing as I grieve for a dog that lifted me out of despair 10 years ago. She has asked me to get this blanket out and to let it sit alongside me on the sofa.

Grief, at present, is very much a physical experience for me right now. The blanket is helping. ❤️💔
