It is exceptionally saddening to see a big brand like Sofology using guinea pigs - in a pet shop environment, no less - on an advert in a way that makes them look like a fashion accessory.

We don’t think it’s an overstatement to say that the UK is in crisis when it comes to the rescue scene for guinea pigs.

Guinea pigs are sentient, misunderstood animals who deserve respect and care. They’re small animals with a lot of complex needs and they are undoubtedly not an accessory to be switched at a whim based on looks.

We hope Sofology take the complaints and feedback into account and do better. Guinea pigs deserve better.
