Meet Suzuki

This sweet coonhound-pointer mix is estimated to be around 12-13 months old and currently around 40-45lbs. He had a pretty ruff start to life as he was left in a watermelon box with his 5 other siblings when they were just only a few months old 😪 Over the past few months these pups have been coming out of their shell with our volunteers but are still pretty timid and unsure of new people so he will need some time to overcome his fear of people in his new home. Suzuki is dog friendly and does very well with kids once he warms up to them, however because of his breed he will bark and want to chase after a cat. Despite Suzuki growing up in a shelter environment he is actually self kennel trained and keeps his space very neat and tidy. He loves to play and is getting the hang of walking on a leash as well. Suzuki would make a great family dog and would love to find his furever home.

Suzuki has had all his puppy vaccinations and is neutered.

Meet Wally! Wally is a light orange, short-haired, lover boy. Truly one of the sweetest, most chill kitties around, he spends his day lounging around with or on whoever he can find. He shows off his lovely, deep purr quickly and often as he snuggles up to you. He handles the bustling activity of young children very well, happy to sit and watch the action go on around him. We are unsure how he will react around dogs. He uses his litter box without any problems. Wally's silliest quirk is that he LOVES to drink water from a faucet by sticking his head under the flow and licking the drops that fall off of his face! This has earned him the nickname "Wet-Head Wally"! Wally would be the perfect addition to a family who is looking for a calm-tempered, affectionate, low-key, lap cat. He is FIV positive and will need to be the only cat in the home.

⭐️ Meet Molly ⭐️

Meet Miss Molly! Molly was abandoned durning the night by her previous owner in our outdoor kennels with her 5 week old puppies in below freezing temperatures over this past winter. She was terrified, but quickly trusted our volunteers to come to her rescue. She and her pups were all very sick with intestinal infections and pneumonia from being out in the cold. Molly was the best mama dog. Despite losing one of her puppies to pneumonia, the other five have been vet eared and have all been adopted out. Miss Molly is just waiting to find a home of her own.

Molly’s ideal home would be with someone who is active and enjoys long walks and playtime. Her favorite toys are ones that she can squeak, and she also enjoys a good game of fetch. She is a young adult estimated to be around 2-3yrs old, so still has a playful energy and a bubbly personality. At 22 pounds Molly can still be a lap dog (kinda!) and will try! She loves cuddles and kisses from anyone who will oblige.
Molly is good with kids of all ages and other dogs but a home without cats maybe the best option for her. She doesn’t really understand cats and just likes to chase them. If you have a ball ready to play, Molly is your puppers!

Molly is spayed, fully vaccinated, and heartworm negative.

Meet Dolly

As you may remember Dolly was found as a stray back in March. She had an infected pocket on the side of her neck which required surgery. Two surgeries later, she is healthy and ready for a home of her own. Dolly is Aprox 7-8 years old and weights around 60lbs. She will need a fenced in back yard because she is a hound and likes to keep her nose to the ground. Dolly has such a sweet heart and so much love to give. She is kennel broken and very quiet. Dolly is now spayed, up to date on vaccines, and on heartworm prevention.

We need fosters who are experienced in rehabilitation of dogs, willing to foster dogs of all sizes and ages, and fosters for kittens that need some socializing. Meet Blinker, one of the newest additions to Max’s Hope! This sweet girl was injured by a car and required amputation of her left front leg. She is a little shy at first, but warms up quickly and wants all the belly rubs! She climbs the cat trees like a champ and plays as if she has all 4 legs. Blinker is fully vaccinated, litter box trained, and does well with other cats. Help us find Blinker a forever home!

There are 2 pictures below and it has taken the last 2 days for me to calm down enough to post them. The first is a puppy in his foster home with Miss Barbara. The second is the box that he was found in on the side of a road in Trigg County. His sibling had managed to escape the box which has wire on top attached by the blue twine you see.
But his sibling was unfortunately ran over and killed. Had it not been for Mr. Sholar, this pup may have met the same fate or worse died in the box from either dehydration or heat stroke-both agonizing ways for a very young puppy to die. Please community members, spay and neuter your pets especially if the litters are going to end up like this poor pup. All rescues and shelters are struggling terribly this year and this cowardly act just added to our load. If you know who did this, please show them this post. They probably won't care that at least one of them made it, but we do!

Emergency help needed. These babies were found in a field and taken in by a nice family. They are approximately 2 1/2 weeks old and need to be bottle fed for the next few weeks. There are 3 of them.

Lucky and Lainey are the best of friends. They aren’t blood siblings, but both had a similar start in life and have become bonded to each other. You’ll often find them together having a snack, chasing a crinkly toy, or even wrestling end over end across the house. They are so entertaining to watch and bring so much joy to anyone who meets them! Both are living in a foster home with lots of space to roam, so are acclimated to a home life, interaction with humans and other animals, and are pros at using the litter box.
