If you havenโ€™t already done so, please reach out to your vet soon and get this taken care of; as there is definitely a vet shortage and a backlog in many practices around Maine to get new puppies in, even for some that already have older dogs at the practice.

You and your new puppy should visit your vet in 48hrs to 10 days after puppy comes home for a welcome visit and to start your puppy on any heatworm/flea & tick regimen (Iโ€™ll go over some recommendations later on) that works best for you and just a over all adjustment checkin. Along with getting your next puppy shot scheduled.

All our puppies leave here with their first shot at 8 weeks. (Spectra 5 or Spectra 6)

People are always curious about puppy shots. This is a great schedule that I like to go by and thought others would find helpful.

8 Weeks-Dhpp
12 weeks- Dhpp booster
16 weeks- Dhhp booster & Rabies
6 months- (Must register your pup with the town)
16 Months- Dhpp & Rabies
Every Year After- Dhpp & Wellness Check
Rabies- Every 3 Years After the Second at 1 1/2yrs

Good morning families, Only a few more days till itโ€™s time for our first round of puppies to start going home. For these litters we tried a different food at weaning till recently. We started them on Diamond puppy food to try to find a little more cost effective food for new families. Due to the ever skyrocketing cost of dog food. However, at least with these litters, we have seen that puppies are a little smaller then our norm. However, also looking back at puppies from these two moms, when it came time to head home previously their puppies were smaller then too. So it may just be something with these moms genetics that their particular puppies are โ€œslow growersโ€; however we donโ€™t anticipate their end size to be โ€œsmallโ€ based on parents and past litter current sizes. But we have started to transition them back to our old trusted ProPlan Sport 30/20 chicken all life stages just incase the food had any role in their size. So with that being said we are recommending that families still purchase the recommend ProPlan Sport 30/20 All Life stages, if possible for the first month that your puppy comes home, to give them the opportunity to โ€œcatch upโ€ a little size wise. Then if you would like to change to another high quality food, we will have information that goes home with puppy on how to do this successfully. Other than that babies are excited to be headed off to their new homes. Our Story

We live in a small town, Monticello, Maine. I have had dogs and puppies all my life. I started out with a pair of Labrador Retrievers; a Chocolate and Yellow. After having our first litter, we had so many complements on our puppies and people wanting more I decided to continue and be able to offer a variety of puppies to people looking for their next companion.

I raise healthy puppies to send to great families, who are looking to give a forever home to a great companion. I have also acquired a State of Maine Breeding Kennel License which requires us to have at minimum, a yearly inspection by a State District Humane Agent. I also have a Town Breeding Licence, which also requires a Annual Inspection by the town Animal Control Officer.
