Texas Sporting Breed Rescue Texas Sporting Breed Rescue, Inc. (TSBR), is a State of Texas non-profit corporation.

It all started with a dream that we could see a no-kill society in our lifetime and that one of the biggest hunting and outdoor enthusiast states in the US would embrace its Sporting Breeds and support our efforts in saving them. Driven by these hopes and founded by a group of dedicated volunteers, we set out on the "Mission" of Texas Sporting Breed Rescue.

Once upon a time, there was a sweet black Lab named Lilly who didn’t make a big fuss about anything — not her past, not her heartworm treatment, not even when she didn’t get the first treat in the pack.

She just waited.
Patiently.
Tail wagging.
Always ready with a smile.

Now, Lilly is nearly ready to trade in her recovery badge for something a little more exciting — like a family of her own, a soft place to land, and a human who appreciates the quiet brilliance of a dog who simply gets it.

She’s well-mannered. She doesn’t jump. She doesn’t bark just to hear her own voice. She loves love — and gives it in spades.

Lilly doesn’t need the spotlight… but she’ll steal the show anyway.
She’s almost ready. And when she is, she’ll be unforgettable.

Say hello to June — our joyful little ray of sunshine!

June is a young black Lab who’s been working hard on her recovery after heartworm treatment. And good news… she’ll soon be ready to meet her forever family!

This girl is the full package — gentle, sweet, always smiling, and totally in love with people. She’s the kind of dog who makes your day better just by being in it.

Not quite ready to adopt? We’re still looking for fosters to help dogs like June finish healing in a comfy home environment.

🐾 Morning stretch.
🐶 Afternoon roll in the grass.
🎾 Evening fetch (but just once—I’m not a golden retriever 🙄).
🛋 Nighttime snuggles with my forever family… oh wait, still waiting on that last one.

Hey there, world — I’m June!

They say good things come to those who wait… and I’ve been patiently waiting through heartworm treatment so I can finally meet my forever family. Spoiler alert: I’m almost there!

I’m sweet, snuggly, and always smiling. Seriously — I’ve been told I have “gold medal happy face energy.” I love people, I’ve got the sit-and-smile game down, and my favorite thing is being your shadow (in the cutest, non-creepy way).

Soon, I’ll be ready to start meeting the lucky humans who want a lovable Lab like me. Think we might be meant to be? Stick around… my heart is healing and my future is looking bright.

Hi, I’m Lilly! And guess what? I’m this close to being ready to meet my forever family!

I’ve been laying low and taking it easy while I recover from this thing humans call “heartworm treatment.” (Not my favorite spa experience, to be honest.) But I’ve been a total trooper — belly rubs, naps in the sun, and daily doses of love have been my secret to healing.

My vet team says I’ll be ready for meet-and-greets very soon, and I. Can’t. Wait. I’ve got so much love to give, a goofy smile that just won’t quit, and a heart full of Labrador joy.

So if you’ve been wishing for a well-mannered, floppy-eared best friend who gives five-star snuggles and knows how to work a camera… I think we should talk. 💌
