In December, I started working with Lily, Havoc and Rosie. I got called in for inter household aggression, it seemed that Lily would randomly attack Rosie who is a senior pup just trying to live her golden years. The family was exhausted, stressed and couldn’t live on pins and needles just waiting for the next fight to break out. But, they were devoted and dedicated to helping their dogs. Over the next six months we focused on easing Lilys anxiety, modifying her resource guarding, teaching all three of the dogs solid cues like place, stay, focus and recall. We also went on a deep dive to help the guardians become confident pet parents and learn how to better communicate and understand their dogs needs. It was a long road but they have graduated! All of them, humans and dogs, have learned and grown so much during our time together. I’m so happy to have helped bring peace back in to this household and very proud on how far everyone has come.

Today was my last day with my very first KCC client, Ellie!! She came to me as a rowdy teenager and left a still rowdy six year old. It was very bittersweet as I am so excited for her and her mom’s new adventure, but will miss them dearly. Have so much fun on the east coast Ellie belly! I can’t wait for the updates 🤗

The coast, my favorite vacation I go on for my dogs.

Watching my dogs have the freedom to run for miles, chase birds, run in the waves, dig in the sand and enjoy just being a dog, fills me with so much joy. Stella loves it, my reactive dog, Sevy, loved it. And last weekend, I got to introduce Feiffer to it.

This is your sign, no matter how old, how big or how reactive. Go get lost with your dog at the ocean.

This weeks private training sessions!

EVIE: I am soooo proud of this dog! Her guardian volunteered to transport her across the country to go to a rehabilitation facility after getting rescued from a hoarding case. He fell in love with her and decided to adopt! They contacted me after having her for 7 months because she wouldn’t come out of their closet. You read that right, she was so scared, she lived in their closet for 7 months!! She sure hit the jackpot though! Her guardians are so dedicated and love her so much, they have worked hard boosting her confidence and made huge progress. But, we seemed to hit a plateau. So I suggested something I don’t typically suggest, getting another dog. I figured since Evie came from a hoarding case with lots of other dogs, a confident dog would help her thrive. I’m happy to report, I was right! Soon her guardians welcomed Chip into the family. A bouncy, confident Pyr who had completely brought Evie out of her shell. She’s playing, leaning into my pets, going outside and enjoying being a dog!

CHIP: Evies brother! We had so much fun teaching this big teddy bear of a frat boy to keep four paws on the floor and come when called even with distractions!

KEVIN: What a name! He has to be one of the most handsome shepherds I have ever met! Kevin got attacked by off leash dogs in his neighborhood and is now reactive toward other dogs. We are working on easing his anxiety and reteaching him calmness and attentiveness to his handlers when he feels anxious.
