This is your reminder that’s it’s that time of the year to leave out raincoats and towels for our sessions. Being cold and wet is NOT enjoyable.. the smell of wet dog in your house is also NOT enjoyable 🤗

Katies Clever Canines and Ashley’s Animal Care are hosting our Pawliday Gift Swap again this year! Here’s how it works:

• You will receive a questionnaire to fill out that goes over your pets details (favorite toys, food allergies, favorite activities, etc.)
• We will draw names for each participant and give you the questionnaires so you can get to know who you’re buying a gift for.
• $30 limit for the gifts.
• Wrap up your gift and we will collect them the week of 12/8 and pass them out the week of 12/15
• Send us pictures or videos of your pets with their gifts! That way we can pass it on to the family who drew your name!

Please let Katie, Ashley, Bryanna or Courtney know by 11/14 if you’d like to join in on the holiday fun!

Luciano is a newly adopted pup learning some basic manners to help set him up for success in his new home. He is goofy, flirty and a ball of fun!

Koa is a sweet, sensitive Aussie working through some generalized anxiety and reactivity.

Walk and train Wednesday!

Introducing Miss Raven! This doe eyed sweetheart is littermates with Oso. She spent most of the first portion of her life in a crate until she got adopted by Oso’s family. This means she’s missed out of a lot of early socialization and training. When Raven is anxious, it shows are her being frantic; jumping, pulling, unable to focus. Our goal is to ease this anxiety and boost her confidence in her new space. As well as teach her some cues to give her more skills and a better chance to make good choices. Raven is such a sensitive sweetheart and reminds me a lot of my own dog. It’s been fun working with her and helping her problem solve as she navigates this new big world of hers.

Bring back our 7 tips to keep your pets safe this Halloween 🎃👻

1. KEEP COLLARS AND ID TAGS ON AT ALL TIMES. Accidents can happen. Making sure your pets have their collars and id tags on can help your pet come home if they were to get out.

2. UTILIZE A BARRIER. Put up a gate or baby gate at the front door, put your dog on leash or use a tether so your dog doesn’t bolt when trick or treaters arrive.

3. KEEP YOUR CATS INSIDE! Bring your outdoor cats inside. Unfortunately, some people will cause harm to small animals on Halloween. You might think it won’t happen to you, but keep your cats inside just to be safe!

4. CREATE A SAFE SPACE FOR YOUR CATS. Keep your cats in a bedroom with the door shut. Make sure they have a litter box, water, a soft place to sleep and some soothing music to help them stay calm through the chaos and prevent them from running out the front door.

5. MEET YOUR DOG WHERE THEY’RE AT. If your dog is fearful of strangers or reactive at the door, Halloween can be extremely stressful for them. Choosing to not participate can ease so much stress and anxiety. Keep your porch light off so people know you don’t have candy. Or, leave a bowl of candy on your porch and put a sign on your door asking people not to knock. “Fearful dog inside, please don’t knock but help yourself to a piece of candy!” Or make it fun, “Beware of the monsters inside! Quietly take some candy but make a peep and see some teeth.”

6. KEEP HALLOWEEN CANDY OUT OF YOUR PETS REACH! Candy can be deadly to pets. Know where the closest emergency vet office is and keep candy away from your pets.

7. DONT FORCE YOUR PETS INTO A COSTUME. Some pets don’t mind being dressed up but others get very nervous. Remember that anxious pets are more likely to bite. Prevent a bite by just saying no to the costume.

Walk and Train Wednesday!

Meet Noelle! This gorgeous shepherd is working on her leash manners and reactivity. Noelle is spunky, loves and ventures and finding little critters of our walks. She isn’t food motivated outside so it’s been find finding new and exciting things (like chasing bunnies and follow scents) to reward her on her walks. Her happy dances before our walks and zoomies when we get home are my absolute favorite!
