We just passed the one-year anniversary of our Granville Island protest. Two dumped house pets quickly created a colony of 40 living in Ron Basford Park. The Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation made the decision to cull, but after protest efforts and public outrage, we came to a solution – trap, neuter/spay, and contain in a Rabbitat sanctuary. A year later, we have found a forever home for our Granville Island colony. Last week, 14 rabbits were moved to a brand-new satellite sanctuary, cared for by Valerie and Ian. 💕Their new space is a definite upgrade, giving them indoor and outdoor access to explore and play in total safety. Here, they’ll live long, enriched lives amongst their bunny friends (and a few friendly neighbors as well 😉). Thank you to everyone who has done their part in ensuring these bunnies get to live the lives that they deserve. And an extra special thank you to Alison, our advocacy coordinator, who worked tirelessly to make this happen. This one was a win for team-bunny. 🐇
Abandoned House Rabbit is Richmond
INJURED BUNNY - We got reports this afternoon of an injured bunny in Richmond. She was obviously domestic, and looked like a dumped house pet from photos alone.
In these cases, we often can’t take the rabbit. We know, it’s not fair. Nobody is more heartbroken than us, but we can only intake when resources allow.
Of course, when we saw videos of this bunny limping, dragging her leg behind her, we knew that she was an exception. We couldn’t just leave her out there, and we had to be quick.
Peter and Laura-Leah went to look for her and luckily, she was easy to find (and grab) with an obviously broken leg. “Dayton Ash” is safe and sound, taking her Metacam like a pro and nibbling on grass and hay.
Her leg is another story.
She’ll be seeing Dr Rana in the morning for a diagnosis. Please help us care for Dayton and pay her vet bill. 💕

Sick Bunny Fund - The cut-off is tonight (in just a few hours) and the buns need your help…
This baby was a newborn minutes away from euthanasia. 💔 S/he has had a few health challenges but is now doing really well with our baby foster Jenn. This is just one of several we've helped recently, adding to our already enormous vet bills. We couldn't have saved any of them without donations.
Same old story these days… our vet bills are climbing and our donations are dwindling.

Our sweet Rosie needs your help.
This big white beauty has been in our care for nearly 6 years, and over the past couple of years, she’s dealt with a multitude of health struggles.
Our million-dollar bun, Rosie has been treated for a severe bacterial infection, molar spurs, liver infection, a chin abscess, chronic ileus (bloated belly, pee and poop issues), back leg mobility issues… just to name a few.
Ultrasounds are now showing a small tumor attached to her gall bladder and it’s presumed cancerous.
Despite all of this, Rosie is one happy bun, who lives an amazing life along with her medical foster mom and bonded sister Noora. She’s ultra-friendly, downright hilarious, and has an incredible appetite.
Rosie deserves to live a full, pampered life until the end. But to do so, we need your help! Please consider donating to our Sick Bunny Fund to help pay for Rosie’s ongoing treatments.
Our vet bills are due today, and we’re struggling to keep up with them.

Hello dream home! Gerladine and Solo went home a few months ago... and it's safe to say that their new family is a perfect match. 🩷🐰
This pair is very special to us (like all our buns!) so we knew their adopters would have to be darn special to match. Luckily, one family recognized their charm through just a few photographs and just had to meet them.
In the end, they picked each other. Clearly, Solo is overjoyed. 🥰
If you've been thinking about adding your own specials bunnies to your family, fill out an application at rabbitats.org/adopt With nearly 100 adoptable rabbits in our care, we would love to match you with the perfect buns for your fam. 🩵
