Our darling Heli is looking for his forever home.
When we brought Heli and his siblings to the Bunny Cafe, the community fell in love with their adorable antics.
And despite an early adoption, dear Heli was returned to our care (at no fault of his own).
Heli is a lover through and through. He loves his pets and cuddles, greeting our shelter volunteers with exuberance whenever they enter the room.
More than just a cutie, Heli is FULL of personality. He leaves no corner unexplored, and is a certified escape artist when it comes to his x-pen. It only took him a couple of weeks to decide that he won’t be contained, and now free roams our adoptables trailer with gusto.
Young and full of beans, Heli is a silly bunny who needs a loving (likely free-roam) home where he can binky and play to his heart’s content.
Heli would also benefit from a bun-wife in the coming year, and we’d be happy to speed date him if there are any eligible bachelorettes looking!

Scenes from the Nail Trim Bunanza at The Bunny Cafe 🐰💞Nail trims can be one of the trickier parts of bunny care, but regular trims (approximately every 8 weeks) are important for your buns’ comfort. If you’re struggling at home, you’re not alone! Please reach out for grooming options, expert tips, and for future nail trim events. + you can always book your buns in for a grooming appointment at the cafe.
We're passed the one-year anniversary of our Granville Island rescue project. Two dumped house pets quickly created a colony of 40 living in Ron Basford Park. The Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation made the decision to cull, but after protest efforts and public outrage, we came to a solution – trap, neuter/spay, and contain in a Rabbitat sanctuary.
A year later, we have found a forever home for our Granville Island colony. Last week, 14 rabbits were moved to a brand-new satellite sanctuary, cared for by Valerie and Ian. 💕
Their new space is a definite upgrade, giving them indoor and outdoor access to explore and play in total safety. Here, they’ll live long, enriched lives amongst their bunny friends (and a few friendly neighbors as well 😉).
Thank you to everyone who has done their part in ensuring these bunnies get to live the lives that they deserve. And an extra special thank you to Alison, our advocacy coordinator, who worked tirelessly to make this happen. This one was a win for team-bunny. 🐇
Abandoned House Rabbit is Richmond
INJURED BUNNY - We got reports this afternoon of an injured bunny in Richmond. She was obviously domestic, and looked like a dumped house pet from photos alone.
In these cases, we often can’t take the rabbit. We know, it’s not fair. Nobody is more heartbroken than us, but we can only intake when resources allow.
Of course, when we saw videos of this bunny limping, dragging her leg behind her, we knew that she was an exception. We couldn’t just leave her out there, and we had to be quick.
Peter and Laura-Leah went to look for her and luckily, she was easy to find (and grab) with an obviously broken leg. “Dayton Ash” is safe and sound, taking her Metacam like a pro and nibbling on grass and hay.
Her leg is another story.
She’ll be seeing Dr Rana in the morning for a diagnosis. Please help us care for Dayton and pay her vet bill. 💕
