We’re just under two weeks into the new year… and our update list is a mile long! Here’s the latest on our newest little rescues:

Late Sunday night, we rescued sweet Ronnie. She was found in a good Samaritan's garden, unable to keep herself upright. She’s started treatment for EC, and eating fresh cilantro when hand fed.

Earlier, we rescued this beautiful seal-point bunny along with her wee boyfriend from the side of highway 99. She stood out, and the trapping team determined they were likely dumped pets. During intake, we noted she was likely pregnant.

Sure enough, she gave birth to 3 beautiful harlequins shortly after. All are doing well with baby foster Jen.

In even more baby news, we took in a teeny tiny agouti facing euthanasia. They were just five days old, eyes still closed. Now, they’re staying warm with their other baby foster friends, including the white baby puff we shared last week. You can follow along with their first days on our baby foster’s page: https://shorturl.at/8vLvG

We need donations to provide these bunnies with necessary veterinary care including spays, neuters, and vaccinations. We appreciate all the support we can find for them.

Incoming! This tiny blue-eyed baby was found in a schoolyard in Richmond, possibly picked up and dropped by a raptor. The little one is at the vet right now, but s/he seems to be a survivor. This isn't our first baby of 2026, we just haven't had time to post. We thank everyone for their end-of-year support after our $17000+ December vet bill, but we haven't had even one donation come into our Paypal Giving Sick Bunny Fund in 2026, and we could use some! If the Meta link doesn't work, try the direct link here: paypal.com/ca/fundraiser/charity/3764772, or rabbitats.org/donate . As always, we thank you and this baby will thank you.

You may have guessed from our recent stories that something special is in the works... and we’re finally ready to share the good news!

Introducing Cozy Carrots: A brand new bunny lounge opening in Richmond, BC. AKA - a tranquil lounge that’s home to a delightful bunch of our adoptable bunnies.

The lounge will be open soon (fingers crossed!) and our bunnies are getting ready to meet their adoring fans. New arrivals include our confident queen CeeCee, lovers Stormy and Golden Grahams, an adorable baby squad, and trio Taco, Salad, and Mushroom.

With so many bunnies needing homes, we are beyond thankful for this new partnership, providing a safe space for bunnies in need, helping us share bunny education, and displaying what amazing companions bunnies make.

Update on our sweet boy Riley, who was rescued after being run over by a car! You can read his full story here: https://shorturl.at/b9YhS

Riley eats a wider variety of food now, though he still gets Critical Care to help get his weight up. He gobbles up veggies, eats some alfalfa hay (which will hopefully lead to Timothy hay), and he is working up to crunchy pellets, but for now they’re still softened with a bit of water.

Our vet will take x-rays mid-January (8 weeks after his initial injuries from being run over by a car) to assess if his lower jaw fracture is starting to heal on its own. We’re counting on this self-healing, because surgery wasn’t an option.

Please, wish him well. He's a very loving little bunny, and is grateful to his caregivers, especially Deanna who he has chosen as "his person." 🩵

Baby update! These three babies were found abandoned in Everett Crowley Park this fall, along with their mom and several other breeder dumps.

The girls are thriving in their foster home, putting on weight and entertaining everyone with their antics.

They love snuggling and eating together. They’re messy eaters, they like dunking their heads into the bottom of the bowls to get to the pellets 😅

The smallest one with the smoky eyes is the bravest of the bunch, always exploring and coming towards you when you’re nearby.

The mid size one with some spots on the ears loves sprinting around and is most active.

The white chunky one is the shyest of the bunch, but when picked up, she’s calm and loves her pets.

We’re so thankful to their foster family, and to the trapping team who brought these babies to safety. 🩷

Surgery day at Apex Animal Hospital

We brought in our girl trio - Din, Nayru, and Farore. Last year, these girls were dumped at our shelter without so much as a note. We had no idea about their age, health history, anything!

So, when we tried to have Nayru spayed, our vet found she was already fixed! We opted not to spay the other two, trying to save them from unnecessary surgeries. But a few indicators (including messy antics) told us they may actually be intact...

Turns out - we were right! Din and Farore were spayed today; an important step in their long-term health. Pictured - the two resting after their spays, still sleepy from anesthetic.

Next, Flea went in for his neuter. You may remember his rescue earlier this year, found abandoned in Abbotsford and covered in fleas. He has the sweetest disposition, and will soon be ready for adoption.

Finally, our dear Joni (of Bo, Dolly, and Joni fame) went in to get her lump checked, and removed. We're sending the lump off for a biopsy, so please keep her and her friends in your thoughts. Hoping for the best. ❤

Donations are always appreciated. If the donate button doesn't work for you, please try this paypal.com/ca/fundraiser/charity/3764772 or rabbitats.org/donate
