Throughout my childhood and teenage years I used to draw and paint. I loved the challenge of getting the textures and tones just right, and the pride I had in my work once I finished. This was my creative outlet and honestly, also a wonderful form of procrastination in high school! After high school I skipped from uni, to full time work and the time I spent drawing and creating faded away. Fast-forward a few years and the creative itch was back. I found myself relaxing after work each day; wishing I had something to put together and create while I watched TV (who are those weird people that can sit and watch a show without doing something else at the same time?!). At this time I had also been exposed to the equestrian addiction of Matchy Matchy; I loved my saddle pads but had no use for boots, wraps and bonnets that others coordinated with. My journey of training my own horse began with lots of groundwork and western riding so I love my rope halters and reins and preferred to coordinate with them. The few stockfeeds in my area didn't have the colour range, weight or most importantly quality of rope that I like to use, so I decided to have a go at making my own... Friends started asking where I was getting my lead ropes from and family members started asking why they were suddenly on first name basis with the postman due to so much rope being delivered to the house. I just loved all the colours... and I was creating again! Unfortunately I discovered pretty quick that I don't need over 10 halters for 1 horse (trust me this is not from lack of trying; I have a pretty unhealthy collection of rope gear haha). And Renee's Ropes was born!
