Poor little girl has been through sooo much!
I circled just a few of the many, many wounds/road rash she has. They are all over her.
Today she had an accident (pee/poop) in her crate while I was at work. She tried to cover it up by dumping her bowl of water on it and then ripping a bed to shreds to bury it in foam. Her tidying skills could use some work. 😏 I cleaned her up as best and as gently as I could, but, needless to say, she is one stinky little girl. 🦨 Regardless, I'm going to have her sleep on my bed again tonight so she can be cone-free and I can keep an eye on her.
We're scheduled to go to the vet very first thing in the morning for her to get the FHO surgery. Hoping beyond all hope that her pneumothorax is completely healed. She could have major complications under anesthesia if it's not. 🙏 They will take radiographs to check beforehand, but it's still a risk. 😮💨
If all goes well (God, please let it all go well), Cassie may be able to walk again tomorrow. At the moment, when she's excitable, she just drags her back legs around and makes me cringe at how painful it has to be. At least she's on plenty of good drugs. 🥴 But, hopefully, her recovery truly begins tomorrow. 🤞
She's been through absolute hell this week and I am just so hopeful that things will start to improve for her. 💞
As ever, thank you to everyone who has shown us so much love and caring support. Your kindness and generosity has been so heartwarming and overwhelming. I am truly truly grateful to have all of you in my life! 🥰
