An update from Cariboo Bengals ! I have had several messages this past month for information on litters or available kittens.
I had plans last fall to show Odessa which fell through due to work and home commitments.
My aim in breeding cats was to breed to Bengal Standards and enter a few shows for a few years showing kittens I raised, should litters produce show quality kittens. Not all kittens are show quality and are still beautiful pets.
With a population increase in the Cariboo, it leaves us with longer than normal wait times for vet appointments and that can cause delays in re homing kittens at the best ages .
Litters are a lot of work and time involved, also cost involved in feeding , supplies, vet appointments for adults and kittens . I really enjoyed the kittens and the time I spent with them and the new people I met and who now own my kittens.

Taking all this into consideration I have decided to not breed again.

I would still love to have updates on any kittens I raised here, and can be reached through Gillian Gypsy on facebook.

⚠️To our valued clients, patients and the Quesnel community: ⚠️

We have had multiple hospitalized parvovirus cases in the past few weeks.

Typically, parvo affects puppies and young dogs - if left untreated, parvo can be fatal. Common signs and symptoms include vomiting, decreased appetite, lethargy and bloody diarrhea.

Please make sure your puppy/dog's vaccines are up to date! The best way to prevent parvovirus is vaccination. Please make sure exposure to public areas and other animals is limited until your puppy has had a complete puppy vaccination series!

A vaccine series is considered complete when the puppy has had it's parvovirus vaccines at 8, 12 and 16 weeks. This vaccine is then boosted one year after the 16 week shot, and is repeated every 3 years from that point onwards.

If you are unsure of your puppy/dog's vaccine status, please contact us and we can let you know.

Some very good information from a vet on cat litter boxes !

Some very good information from a vet on cat litter boxes !

😸Meet Mickey!🐾

Mickey is a 3-legged kitten new addition to my home a few months ago. During the adjustment period for him and my resident senior kitty, we noticed some urine outside the litterbox. Then silly me remembered that we were down to just one litterbox after having put down my other cat earlier this year. 🤦‍♀️ So, the second litterbox made its return and voila! no more accidents! There you have it, some anecdotal evidence that our advice for your cats actually works! Technically I should even have a third litterbox - one per cat plus one extra is the rule of thumb.

I have heard about too many cats that have been given away or surrendered to shelters due to behavior problems such as urinating outside the litterbox and I can't help but wonder how many of these situations were simply a lack of knowledge on how to set up an appropriate cat environment. If you have any behavior problems with your cat, talk to your vet first! We've usually got some great advice for cat owners!

We shared this article a few days ago, but I'll re-post it here. It's got a lot more details about how to set up a cat-friendly environment.♥

This Bengal was found in Quesnel last year, but also not one of the kittens I raised,, just double checking stuff !! since another Bengal has been found in Quesnel recently.

Owner found 😊 Mufasa has gone home 🏡 ❤️

This handsome boy was found out on Milburn Lake Road, do you recognize him?

He is a neutered male and he does have a microchip, but unfortunately efforts to track down owner information have been unsuccessful, as it appears the microchip registry may not have been completed.

We would love to reunite this lovely boy with his family, so if you know where he belongs, please get in contact with us at 250-992-7722, email us at [email protected], or PM us on here.

Thank you.

I am hoping to enter/attend two cat shows during the 2022 year, Langley in Aug and Vancouver in November, I will be showing the youngest of my Bengals who has met the breed standard requirements.
Hoping to juggle work and pet sitters to make this happen .
The first time I showed was in 2019 and we did ( the cat did ) very well, placing with all judges except one in two days of showing.
So here is hoping we can enter/attend and be back there this year.

It has come to my attention tonight, The Quesnel SPCA have a male neutered Bengal and he is micro chipped, if I sold you a male kitten, and this cat is missing, please call me at 778-466=2063,, the micro chip info of the cat is not updated to a new owner, and possible the micro chip agency have called my old number and while that number is still in service, I do not live there and have not for two years.
