Our sweet foster, Winston, is looking for his forever home❤️

This very playful young boy (2 years old, 69 lbs) is a fun-loving, active, house broken, crate trained, and dog-friendly fellow.. He’s looking for a happy home of his own with at least one other playful dog and a fenced yard.

As hard as the last few posts were to make and as heartbreaking as the losses are of our furry companions - ALL of these dogs went from the shelter, to loving homes.
Their families loved them unconditionally, until their little bodies were old and tired.
We are eternally thankful for the people we've connected with over the years!
Thank you for helping shelter dogs and giving them a second lease on life💟

From Ginger's mom:
'It’s been one week without our precious Ginger girl and the tears don’t seem to stop. Anyone who ever met her loved her. She was our goof ball, protector, snuggler, companion, and confidante…a member of our little family. The house feels empty without her here but we know she’s no longer in pain. Rest easy my little puppa butt, Gingy baby, sweet girl. You are forever in our hearts.'

We also lost sweet Luna last year. She had beaten cancer, but it came back and Luna's family decided to free her from the pain it was causing.

Honey's mom & dad had to say goodbye to her last month💔
Her BFF Ginger and her brother Toofie were waiting for her at the 🌈bridge.
Honey was such a special girl and loved by everyone who met her - she will be deeply missed.

Ginger was a throw away momma, found in Pine Hills, Florida. She was still leaking milk when she was found, but her babies were nowhere in sight.
It was the last day of her knowing that life.
From then on, Ginger spent 10 wonderful years with her momma, Heather - they were inseparable!
Ginger was the 'mean' looking hippo - large in size, with a home done crop job.
Little did her previous 'owners' know, Ginger would turn out the be the ambassabull for our rescue - she was a hit at all our adoption events! She was a big lap dog, who would smother you in kisses (she was even our kissing booth dog)!
We would use Ginger for our meet n greets, because she had such a well rounded demeanor & personality.
To say this a tremendous loss, is an understatement - but having known Ginger and shared the time and love with her, made it worth every second.

The rainbow bridge has gained another friend🌈 Riley was rescued from OCAS in 2011 and after being with the rescue for quite some time, she was adopted by an amazing family who loved her and gave her a wonderful life. Riley will be greatly missed🕊️

Nina’s (Tina) family had to say goodbye to her over the weekend😔 OCAS listed her as 9 years old when we took her in 2016. Her mom & dad had her for 7 wonderful years and after a couple years of trying to give her the best quality of life, it was time to let her go. Be free sweet girl🌈🕊️

From Norman’s (Nipsey’s) mom, Mallory:

“We said goodbye to the literal G.O.A.T. dog today. Norman, Normy, Norm, Bubbas, Mr. Nermish Patel, Boopleschnoot, Schnootie, T***s. He lasted longer than we ever expected and we had a wonderful 11+ years together. Norm was the best dog we could have ever asked for…the sweetest and gentlest with all people…our 80 lbs sack of sugar…Throughout his life, multiple people told me that Norm single-handedly changed their minds about the pitbull breed…he was truly the best. My heart will have a hole the size of his stupidly gigantic ears forever. Until we meet again, my sweet boy.”

Our hearts are broken, but we’re forever thankful to Mallory for adopting Norm and giving him the best possible life a pound puppy could ever have.
He was truly a special soul🌈🕊️

This adorable little nugget is Bailey. She was being fostered by a sweet girl, through the Humane Society of Tampa. Her foster reached out to us for placement & one of our original foster mommas had also reached out, looking to bring a new dog into her home. It was a perfect match! Bailey came with major medical issues, so it took a special someone to take her in!
We don’t take in dogs as much as we used to (the rescue world can be quite grueling at times), but being able to sometimes help in these tiny ways gives us the fuzzies💛
Here’s to a happy, healthy future, sweet Bailey🐶

Nova really needs a foster or adopter!

We need the help of our LoveyLoaves supporters! Nova is such a sweet puppy! She just wants to please! She is wondering why no one wants her…..So we are asking for everyone’s help….please help us by sharing Nova, so we can get her into an appropriate forever home.

Unfortunately, she does not like small dogs. WE (the lil’ lovey house) are FULL of small dogs. This has made life very difficult for us and Ward and Cheri are exhausted. Nova is stressed, as are many of our dogs within our home. LoveyLoaves can not assist with saving anymore lives until Nova is placed in her forever home.

Cheri has been sick…. And she now has several broken ribs. However, she has kept up with Nova’s daily care, her weekly therapy, etc. We strive to go above and beyond for every single lil’ lovey in our care. This is no different for Nova. She has gotten the best vet care and the best rehabilitation. Now, it’s time for the best forever home!

Nova is a confident and curious little pocket pit mix (Frenchie pit mix) who is semi-paralyzed in her back legs. She uses a cart for playtime and exercise time, otherwise she scoots along just fine in the house. She’s smart and very treat and toy motivated. Currently she knows the following commands and directives; leave it, stay, no, come, ball, drop it, diaper change, wheels, eat your food. Nova also redirects very well. Her biggest wish is to please and she lives for cuddles and affection. She is a big kisser and will frequently wash your face with her kisses. She is a Velcro dog. She will be by your feet and in the same room you are in.

Nova loves car rides, walks, and enjoys playing with others her size or bigger.
Her energy is medium to slightly high, and she has a good off switch at home. Nova is dog neutral and is not fearful to strangers, children or environments.
She is a total ball spaz and will fetch the ball and return to you. Nova is also great for baths and nail trims.

Her ideal adopter would need to be comfortable with frequent diaper changes, and have space for her to run.
She is not recommended for homes with small children (8 years old or younger). She is a puppy (6-8 months) and is still learning manners. She is also not suited for a home with cats or smaller low energy dogs or animals.

Nova is on am and pm medication and is currently in physical therapy as there exists the possibility she will gain use of her legs.

Nova is crate trained but will cry and whine until she settles in the crate.
Nova would benefit from an adopter that has an active home and will continue to work and reinforce skills she’s gained.
