Wowser... just went to pop a clipping post up and realised I hadn't updated this page for nearly a year! So much has happened and to be honest the trauma of losing our special 'Sunnyridge Astralight' early in the season, took away many successes we had, or the feeling of wanting to share anything at that point! A year to catch up on in a few sentences... here goes....
Showing wise both Millie and George competed against each other this season which was far from ideal! 😝 we never knew Matamata would be the last time we ever got to take our one in a million Astra out and after winning the only class she was in that day, weeks later we would tragically have to lay her to rest. (This still lives with me daily). To heal our pain and with George pony less (he's a one trick rider!) we were so lucky to have Sunnyridge Tinkerbelle (Astra's full sister and doppelgänger) join us and help mend our broken hearts. George and Tinks had fun throughout the season and as he grew so fast and she was teeny, we found her the most amazing home recently! Millie had a cracker end to her fyr years with Hanna (Festive Fields Hi Fidelity) being ever so consistent and also success with Willow (Bendermere Miss Candy Floss) and a friends pony Ataahua Top Notch. She also got to get Thorwood Cool Cat out and although he still needs mileage to be a fyr pony we were very excited that Millie's first open start she qualified him for next HOY in Rising star and open! Galaxy Spring Bling is now broken and mum's attempting to make her into a cool Cat B pony for the future! Mum also got to some hunts with the amazing Polly (Mary Poppins) who's just the best mum H-ony ever! Springdale Mister Grey has been waiting patiently in the wings for Millie to graduate FYR and they've been having fun training for Cat As next season, along with Willow! George is the luckiest boy around to be the proud owner of Leera Park First Edition and we are loving getting to know this special pony and can't wait for him to teach George the ropes in the ring! Oscar has shown an interest and knows Hanna might be back the the LR ring, watch this space 😅poor mum... Millie was extremely lucky to represent NZ at the Sydney Grand Nationals in April and on the beautiful borrowed Sammy, did us all so proud in her rider class, just the most amazing experience! We're into Winter dressage now, (and hunting the next couple of weekends)! Busy times enjoying many disciplines before the kids choose where they are headed! 😝 (please showjumping 🙏) 😝😝
