Mr.Joey is officially ready for his “fur”ever home. Anyone interested in adopting this sweet, lovable boy is welcome to comment below or message us for an application!! He’s had a “ruff” start to life, but he has sooo much love to give. Hes very energetic and has a great personality. He’s great with cats, other dogs and kids. We haven’t found an animal or person that he doesn’t get along with. He loves cuddles and attention and listens fairly well. When we got him he had whip worms, hook worms and trauma from a past full of abuse. He takes a little bit to trust people and needs someone who can be patient, soft spoken and kind. He has learned how to walk on a leash and is now kennel trained for sleep. We don’t know that he was ever inside before coming to us and we’ve had to work with him on potty training. However, he’s a very quick learner and has done surprisingly well with the concept. I’d guess his age to be between 2-4 years old at most, despite his salt and pepper look. That is just his coat colors. He is an Australian Shepherd/Blue Heeler mix. We’ve had him nearly 2 months now working on his behaviors and health.

We are in MAJOR need of animal food donations at this time. Our usual supplier of dog/cat food did not have any this month and we have 2 more weeks until our next pick up from them. We just used the last of our dog food this morning and we are down to one bag of cat food. We will obviously not be letting them go hungry. I plan on buying some this evening, but any and all help is appreciated!! Thank you in advance! We are looking to make BIG changes here at Rescue Momma’s Animal Rehab. We are trying to fix up a SECOND building for housing and rehabbing animals in need. Here at Rescue Momma’s Animal Rehab, we bring in abused, neglected, ill and injured animals. We keep them until they are at peak health, mentally and physically and then find them “fur”ever homes. We have atleast 2 dozen animals at a time. By expanding, we will be able to double if not triple that number. Everything we do is completely out of pocket and gets extremely expensive in todays economy. We are now trying to expand by fixing up a SECOND building to be able to bring in more animals in need located in Lawrence County, IL. Repairs and construction for this building is estimated to be around $5,000. Please help us reach our goal so that we can grow and help more animals like these live their best life. I am going to be scheduling Miss Roxie’s spay for this month. Anyone that would be willing to help with the cost of her surgery is welcome to comment below or message me. Donations can be made directly to us or directly to Dr. Collins veterinary hospital in Lawrenceville, IL. We are also taking Dusty for his neuter on the 18th and scheduling appointments for additional treatments for Ollie and Col who are both struggling with terminal illnesses. As well as Rock who is still on the road to recovery with the laceration on his back and Bruno with his continuing skin condition. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. This month is going to be a “ruff” one, but we always get through it. We would not be able to continue doing what we do without your help. We appreciate each and every one of our supporters. We need help from y’all now more than ever! We have had some veryyy bad luck this past few months. Between our bank account getting compromised and losing $600 because of it and the HORRIBLE water leak that has cost us over a GRAND, we are struggling! We have only received TWO bags of cat food via donations in the past 2 months. We are absolutely set on dog food donations, but we are struggling to keep up on cat food, litter, paper towels and basic day to day needs. If anyone is interested in lending a hand, please comment or reach out to me and we can sort out a way for you to help. Loose dog in Bridgeport. Male, Black with white markings around eyes and on chest. (Best description I can give, he’s fast) Looked to be a medium husky mix of some sort. Orange collar with a tag but I couldn’t get close enough to read it. I tried to grab him but he was scared. Nearly got hit in traffic multiple times. Last saw him on E Chestnut st headed towards the water department!

Just a quick reminder! We are not a shelter. As much as we would LOVE to bring in every animal on the planet, we are just not equipped for those kind of numbers. We are currently only helping animals that have been the victim of neglect, abuse, terminal illness, risk of euthanasia, injury or abandonment. We will GLADLY help you as much as we physically can if you find yourselves in a predicament with stray cats or dogs, but we cannot bring them in ourselves unless you are reporting an animal in immediate need of help. We can give you animal food to take care of them and even offer basic first aid.

Also, a common misconception is that we have funds for spays, neuters and assisting with individuals vet costs. We are currently not able to do so. We are doing our best to be able to fund our rescue, let alone anything else right now. I say all of this with the most sincere apologies and I promise that we are trying our best to get to a point where we CAN do these things. Sadly, we are just not there yet.

PLEASE, don’t think you are not able to reach out to us with any and all issues in the future, because we will still do our best to assist with EVERY situation!! We just want you to know what we can and cannot do at this time. This can change at ANY time. We are constantly growing and finding new ways to help the community. ❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️

We got our FIRST EVER GoFundMe payout today!! $48.25 after the $1.75 fee. To most of you that probably doesn’t seem like a lot, but to us that is amazing progress in our fundraising attempts. FUN FACT: There are absolutely NO income requirements to participate in our Pet Food Program. We ask ZERO questions. Anyone in need of pet food assistance, automatically qualifies. Everyone falls on hard times once in a while and that is OKAY!! Asking for help does not make you any less of a fur-mom/dad. We started this program because there are sooo many services out there that help people get food, but there are next to NO programs to help feed our furry friends. We have seen far too many neglect/starvation cases in the short amount of time that we have been operating. With this program, we are hoping to ELIMINATE that problem. All animals are entitled to a full belly, just like all humans are. They are not “just dogs” or “just cats”. They are living, breathing, beautiful creatures. They have a SOUL. Please, don’t hesitate to reach out for assistance feeding your 4-legged family members.
