Sudan, the world's last male northern white rhino and his handler/guard photographed at Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya, shortly before the animal's death in 2018.
Today, there are only two northern white rhinos remaining on earth, and since both of them are females, the species was thought to be technically extinct. However, a fertilization breakthrough is offering new hope for the species 👇💬

Hey it's Aubrey, the longest resident at Peggy Adams!

Just checking when my family is supposed to get here. Everyone tells me I will get adopted eventually, but it's been 500 days.

Don't get me wrong, I love all the friends I've made here. They say I'm cuddly, affectionate, and fun-loving. It's just that I'm only four years old, and spending half my life in a shelter wasn't in my plans!

When I get adopted, the first thing I'm going to do is take a long nap on your bed. Feel free to join (it's your bed after all)! Then we can share a peanut butter milkshake with bacon on top. After that, we can take a walk and play my favorite game, fetch!
