We float the river in Arizona several times a week and my seizure service dog comes with me. I don’t want him hot. Once he starts panting, I get this wet and put it on him. He doesn’t pant from heat for well over an hour (this is at 108 degrees outside). I am amazed at how great it works.

Keeping my Service Dog Safe

I use this bright yellow jacket to keep her safe -whether its outside in the snow, or in the morning when it's very dark outside. There is reflective tape on it so people can see us - plus when we are in airports traveling my black service dog will be laying on the dark carpeting (typically navy) and people don't look where they walk any more (heads in their phones) so she's almost been stepped on over a dozen times. I've added this vest over her working vest so people can REALLY see her now - I feel more comfortable people seeing her. I liked it so much I bought a 2nd vest.

Follow @watchochogrow learning to be an assistance dog. Although I’m not at Autism Dog we are learning this task after seeing them doing it. My handler doesn’t need DPT (Deep Pressure Therapy). However she does sit on the floor if she is not using her wheelchair and needs a rest, especially in queues. So I’m learning to make (and keep) physical contact when she is on the floor so she can focus on what is going on around her and not on where I am / what I’m doing.
