Dirty Bay K9 Training will now be offering group basic obedience classes, the classes will be held at The Blue Dog House doggie daycare located on Alexander Dr in Baytown! The classes will be at 6:30pm starting Thursday Jan.16th.

There will be 6 weeks of classes, classes will be held every Thursday following the start date. In these classes your pup will learn how to sit, down, stay, come, leave it and start loose leash walking all with other dogs/distractions.

If your dog has severe reactivity this is not the class for you, however feel free to reach out about starting our reactivity course.

*Pups must have age appropriate vaccinations
*Classes will be small no more than 5 dogs per class
*This class is suited more for older pups or adult dogs BUT I will be offering a 6 month and under set of classes shortly after these start.

We have some big news here at Dirty Bay K9!

I am so excited to be partnering with The Blue Doghouse to offer a new service; Day Training! Below is a price list for this new service as well as our usual in home sessions pricing. Our Build A Best Friend package is completely customizable for your dog, whether they need basic obedience, help with leash walking or even reactivity! This package includes 3 sessions a week for 6 weeks, with day care included. Every day your pup comes in for training you will receive a video of their progress as well as "homework" to keep developing their new skills.

Not sure you can commit to the 6 weeks? How about a drop in training session? You can come in, work with your dog and the trainer or you can have them worked with while you are at work! When you come to pick them up you get "homework" to keep developing the wanted behaviors as well as a video of what they have accomplished that day.

Payment plans are available for packages, however a deposit is required. Dogs must have all age appropriate vaccinations and preferably spayed or neutered over the age of a year.

We had a great time with Baymax, his mom, and grandma at the Liberty Trade days on Saturday! Baymax did amazing, he stayed focused on his mom as well as ignored so many big distractions. This team has grown so much since we started and I have loved every second of watching them progress. Of course Xena had to get her yearly Christmas picture!

We had a great time hanging out The Blue Doghouse yesterday. We worked on some training around the other pups and Xena got to play with some new friends. Please check out The Blue doghouse located in Baytown off of Alexander rd. the owners are dog lovers and just lovely people to work with. Your dog will get to burn off some of that crazy energy all while being treated like family!

Xena and I had a busy day today! We started off the morning with a walk to the ball park to run around, then to hang out with our buddy Charlie while his mom was out and about, finally we ended the day with a "field trip" to with Mr. Yohji! Yohji did amazing, he didn't bark or lunge at a single person and even took a treat from me! So proud of the progress this cute dude is making, thanks to his parents for sticking with the program.

Dirty Bay K9 Training will now be offering group AKC Canine Good Citizen classes. The classes will be held at The Blue Dog House doggie daycare located on Alexander Dr in Baytown! Classes will be at 6:30pm on Oct 23rd, 30th, Nov 6th, 13th, 20th and the AKC CGC Test will be on Dec 4th.

Dogs must be AKC registered (AKC number, AKC PAL number, or AKC partners number) to earn the CGC title. However, unregistered dogs, purebred or mixed breeds will receive a certificate upon passing the exam at the end of the course!

AKC Canine Good Citizen test points:
1. Accepting a friendly stranger.
2. Sitting politely for petting.
3. Appearance and grooming.
4. Out for a walk.
5. Walking through a crowd.
6. Sit & down on cue/staying in place.
7. Coming when called.
8. Reaction to another dog.
9. Reaction to distractions.
10. Supervised separation.

To be able to pass each section your pup will learn how to sit, down, stay, come, leave it, ignoring people/distractions, and loose leash walking.

These are my favorite reviews to get! I never did an intro for these pups because when we started we hit the ground running, lots of work on the dogs learning to coexist peacefully with pack walks and brushing up on basic obedience. This was after 6+ months of hard work from the client, sticking to the program makes all the difference!
