Le Sueur Rabbits We are a family operation. Our kids are actively handling and working with our rabbits. They are well cared for and treated to a very good life.

Fair time is truly our favorite time of year. Watching all the 4H kids we sell stock to, all the kids we mentor, and just a chance to see the growth potential in this hobby is astounding. We don't toot our own horn too much around here, we just love to see our kids do well.

So far, and our fair hasn't even started, we have 4 Reserve Grand Champion Breeding Rabbits, and 2 Grand Champion Breeding Rabbits. Here are some highlights without posting pics without prior approval (and its up to them to add if they choose).

4 Reserve Grand Champions
2 Grand Champions (1 of these is with a Silver, 1 with a Red New Zealand)

Those 2 Grand Champions really mean a lot. It is very uncommon to win with a Rare Breed and just about as uncommon to with a Red New Zealand).

Congrats to all the kids, remember why you are doing this hobby, keep your head up, and keep sending me pics!!!!

Sorry we haven't posted a lot lately. It's been a very busy time with lots of shows going on and not really a lot of time to do much posting.

With the recent RHVD2 notification from the state of MN, we are now on lock down for biosecurity purposes. It's heartbreaking that our trip to ARBA convention in Louisville will no longer happen, but we will persevere.

Right now we are working on breed improvement the only way we know how, by breeding and culling our rabbits to ensure that we only produce and keep good representations of each of our breeds.

Currently, as our focus is still in producing Nationally competitive New Zealand rabbits in White, Red, and broken Black. We had some set back earlier this year, and now without our planned trip to ARBA to improve our stock we will continue to breed and cull to improve.

Each of the kids has an additional focus on a breed for themselves. Mark is working hard on his Britannia Petites and is finding them quite the challenge to get suitable prospects that carry one of the dwarf gene.

Ty is working tirelessly on his Silvers in all 3 varieties and is forever trying to improve them. He is heartbroken by not being able to show them at the national level.

Tavia is working on her lilacs and they are proving quite challenging in not only procuring stock, but in their hardiness.

Hayden and Trey are working together on Polish and have grand plans if they can keep working well together.

After our recent state show, Trey and Tavia have decided to take on a small project of working on Havanas together on the side.

So even while we are quarantined for 60 days due to this outbreak and hoping that this is a totally isolated case and we can return to normalcy, we are planning on breeding hard and working to improve each of our breeds.

Only 2 years ago, it's one of our favorite times of the year.
